I just caught the second half of the programme, because we were watching the thriller Cardinal on BBC2. No catchup services available overseas, unfortunately!
We were going to start our project this March of familiarising ourselves with different bits of Spain by taking a three day trip to Cadiz. We had a hotel booked and a tour of a famous Jerez sherry bodega, but had to cancel for obvious reasons. Perhaps we can get there this autumn. |  | | |

We were going to visit Cadiz last summer after your comments. My cousin lives in Malaga with his Spanish wife and she was saying that Cadiz was lovely with really nice beaches and stunning history. We didn't go that visit because my cousin said that she wasn't the one driving.

As I’ve said my brother lives there, I can’t understand why it’s such a no no for many tourists outside of Spain. Maybe that’s the reason, it’s 95% spanish I would say, No pubs, something to do with local legislation,just loads of local bars, literally hundreds of them. Local beer around 1.30 a glass, coffee ( my bag) a euro been out there probably ten times since 2015. The football ground is incredible, seriously partisan, very socialist, seen Michu there and Chico playing for the opposition. I can’t say enough positively about the area, or indeed Spain. In time if I’ve got the guts I will do the same and give it a go out there.

My cousin's wife was raving about one particular chiringuita on the beach but did also rave about Cadiz, maybe because she is Spanish but she does live the Spanish life in Malaga which is a lovely old city but no where near the historic wonderment of somewhere like Cadiz. | |
