He was a mostly peaceful drug trafficker/murderer.

| Breonna Taylor on 09:18 - Oct 6 by Dr_Parnassus | People have been shot over this false media narrative and also a riot. Jacob Blake who was shot and wounded by police after brawling with them and going into his car against orders where there was a large carving knife... now has his name on Drew Brees’ helmet (prominent NFL quarterback). He raped a woman while her child lay next to her. Her mother spoke out about how disgusting it is to see her child’s rapist held aloft and celebrated by the NFL and NBA - she was banned from Twitter. The world has gone utterly bonkers. |
I agree with you, the world has become bonkers, divisiveness has been promoted by the centre right as a vehicle for political gain, and the left has responded in kind. People have lost their common sense of balance and fairness, and empathy has been all but forgotten. There is validity on both sides of the argument and whilst law enforcement should be applauded and supported they should also be subject to scrutiny and not be seen as acting as judge and jury.

I don’t like that saying that is bandied around regarding the cops “acting as judge and jury”. They aren’t being shot because of the crime they committed, they are being shot because they are resisting arrest and police feel their safety is at risk. Where do you see the “divisiveness promoted by the center right”? This divisiveness has been sparked by the false narrative surrounding such cases as Jacob Blake and Breonna Taylor. This has nothing to do with the center or the right.

When interveiwed her boyfriend said that she had fired at them and not him. Lovely guy, he will be out of prison in no time while she, the less guilty one is dead. That is where the backlash should have been, against him.

I was generalising, it’s subjective but I would see Brexit or Trump building a wall as promoting divisiveness by the centre right. Just an observation on the general state of things. [Post edited 9 Oct 2020 17:03]

Protecting your country and it's people from drug runners, child traffickers, illegal immigrants and people with deseases is promoting divisiveness by the centre right? What sane person would not want to do that? The USA does have LEGAL immigration you know. [Post edited 9 Oct 2020 17:29]

| Breonna Taylor on 17:48 - Oct 9 by A_Fans_Dad | Actually the wall is coming along nicely, but you won't read about it in the MSM. Even one of the organisations funding building the wall is being attacked by the Democrat machine. If you think that Mexico aren't paying for it you are wrong, the increased tariffs, the American business and production that they have lost, plus the revenue from people and drug trafficking is hitting them big time. But also benefitting the US workers. If you were actually interested, instead of just sniping I could point to a link where you can see the progress. [Post edited 9 Oct 2020 19:19]

Why is being against illegal immigration divisive? I think this is the issue. A lot of people don’t understand what on earth is going on. I have seen loads of people say “Trump is racist” and they are asked “why?”... they always say “he built a wall, he’s against immigration”. That’s not true at all. He’s all for legal immigration, he is against illegal immigration for very obvious reasons. Without talking of crime, it costs the country upwards of 50 billion a year. I’m not sure how being against illegal immigration is divisive. “The wall” was there before Trump and for good reason. The issue with it is that it was more fence than wall and it was ineffective as large areas were unfenced and unmanned. This is the routes the human traffickers used to take as well as the drug mules.

I don’t think Trump is sincerely right wing, he just saw which way the band wagon was heading and used it for political gain. Where illegal immigration is an issue it needs to be addressed, but not by building a wall in my opinion - that was just right wing rhetoric to harness hysteria and discontent.

The whole point of the wall is to make it difficult to get over giving the border security forces time to get there to apprehend them. Funny how the Democrats were all for a wall until Trump put it in his campaign. https://eu.thetowntalk.com/sto They also all build walls around their own properties for their security. They also justify foreign aid for other countries to build walls as well. The term is political hypocrites.
