Businesses facing real issues yet what do we see, huge crowds in the city as the pubs close for the last time, causing mayhem and then broken up by Police. This follows a raid on a party at a home In Kirkby last week with over 50 in a small house.
THIS is why we in this position, make no mistake. In fact all the tier 3 and areas of high risk are in cities mainly hard Labour voting and and anti Tories. It is not coincidence areas like this are the main causes of concern.
You cannot find any measure to fight this virus when people simply act so irresponsibly.

Mainly as when lockdown was ended the levels in the northwest were four times higher than London and the SE. Been bubbling away in the NW all through summer (Oldham, Blackburn, parts of Liverpool). Not widely publicised but the actions of the City Council and local DPH probably stopped a big spike in South Liverpool in July/August. Birmingham managed to avoid a similar level about a month back.
Lack of compliance is shocking, but also seems Liverpool is being highlighted. If nothing is enforced what's the point?
We need a rigidly enforced circuit break if there is any chance of anything approaching normality in the next six months.
If we carry on like this, the levels in Liverpool will be seen elsewhere. NHS will collapse so for every other condition we will see mortality and morbidity rise. There will be no economy as so many people will be sick.
Kier Starmer pushed Johnson in PMQ’s to follow SAGE advice on a circuit breaker and Johnson said in no uncertain terms that he would not consider it due to the damage it would cause and then promptly said in his next answer that it was a possibility.
‘……. like a moth to Itchy’s flame ……’
This is why those who do not know this great city are so agressively hotile to anything remotely Liverpool. As we can see on t tother site, didnt take long to see the contempt manifest itself.

The loonies are those who do not want to wear masks, keep distance nor even wash hands YET when things go Pete Tong, they will blame the vile tory scum. Like night follows day.
That said,if tarmer was in power,we d probably see the same, which begs the quetion;why are our people like this.
Why is a disaster to close pubs? Pits ,shipyards, steelworks,Mills, clothing factories all shut down with less of a hiatus. We have thousands of pubs that need to go,a relic from an industrial age that saw the working man have relief after a hard day at the face. Problem was it also led to much strife . It's a culture we need to end.
Pits, Shipyards, Steelworks etc were all closed by the evil woman Thatcher.

Not quite true. No 2 plant was closed in 1995 under Major, with plans set in place to close completely within 6 years. Quite a few family members worked there.

I well remember, ken,Michael Foot and Tony Benn being involved in redunancies.Thatcher and Tories were not only parties to have closed industries. British car industry closed itself as did the motor cycle industry well before Thatcher.
Uncomfortable fact that more pits in south Wales were closed under Labour administrations than under Tories.
The situation was that the south Wales coalfield was uneconomic to mine in the face of foreign inferior imports. Was there a case for subsidising a nationalised industry even further to retain employment in depressed areas? Neither party thought so.

The lockdown is because the virus is back with a vengeance. All across Europe lockdowns are being brought in or considered. In Czechia they are closing all pubs/bars and schools. The loonies out breaking rules was going on before lockdowns were brought back in, they are sort of symbiotic, they are both there because of the other.
The Czechs handled it brilliantly during the first wave. This time they have become complacent and removed virtually all restrictions. The result is, they are being absolutely hammered at the moment, Similar with the Dutch and Belgians

Builth. You are going to have to admit British Industry became uneconomic and ate itself.
We had old industries and arcane working practices We had crap products .Our cars made at BL were typical of the time.
As for motor cycles,Norton,Triumph ,BSA were backward and unreliable and the whilst we were kick starting bike ,the Japs brought in electric start, disc brakes that stopped you and were simply safer . Its why Honda initially, followed by Yamaha and Suzuki killed our small motor bikes dead . Then the super bikes came in with Kawasaki making fast bikes that handled well and didnt break down.
Thatcher was on the throne at that time, and it had nowt to do with her
Maybe not but old prejudices remain. Unions support Labour and their members encouraged to detest Tories and blame them for everything.
The tradition areas of outh Wales ,north west, north east will always hate tories in the sawm way as those in Cambs,Devon,Cornwall even,Oxon and Surrey have abject contempt for the Labour party. Its what you are brought up with ,sadly,in this country and until we get rid of this attitude and grow up,we will never move forward. It is 2020 and we no longer send kids up chimneys nor have an outside Lavvy.

Used to live in Oxford. Was the only Labour seat in the SE outside London until 1992.
Very old school was Lynda Chalker. Before the 'professional politicians" took over

They most certainly were and Hans Nielsen -4 times world champion captained them. They were some team and had huge support.adly, like a lot of Speedway teams they folded and they went in 2007 not long after they were Champions, exactly like Ellesmere Port Gunners who folded after becoming league champions. I miss those night more than anything.
The former Gunners site next to Cheshire Oaks is now a housing site.I always look that way wistfully when driving past.
