Awful

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Brilliant post. Best this year so far.

Yes I do say.
You have a point regarding people coming in but what about the cretins who are seen the length and breadth of this country acting like morons . Visitors may bring the virus but it is still US who spread it .

Take a cursory glance at facebook and see the hoardes defying any lockdown at all or even mask wearing.

This should all not be laid at the hands of this of any other government.

Whether a Labour government would have done any better is debatable, unless you are a labour supporter ,in which case ,it would.

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not

No government you say, 30-40 million travellers have been in and out of Britain since march last year, with barely any testing going on if any, blame someone for that, try the government for not shutting down our borders sooner, try blaming the government for the absolute cluster f**k, of not taking this seriously, blame them for not pulling the country together as one to fight this, instead it's tier this, tier that, it's all nonsense, no cohesion. Cheltenham festival, champions League final. No clear plan to fight this thing, eat out to help out, would you like me to go on. And you wonder why this is falling apart, folk have had enough. It's been a shambles.
And tell you what else will be a shambles as well, the vaccine roll out, Jesus, can they get anything right. And from what I've seen, 99.9 % of folk are sticking to the rules. The government have cocked up, they are clueless, out of their depth, and don't get me started on the money that has slipped out of their back pockets never to be seen again, look further than the vast majority of good folk in this country, have a think. ATB.

And because the governments (all of them) have made such a mess of things,

https://www.walesonline.co.uk/

While I agree it's us people spreadingthe virus we continue to be stupid because our stupid politicians cannot see sense. Fair enough, some of what I see now is with the benefit of hindsight but the politicians have that too. International travel should be stopped, the rules should be enforced and for my money, enforced like they have been in Spain, lock people up for 7 days so hopefully they get the message.

On the WOL yesterday there was a comment left by somebody saying he'd had enough and it wasn't his problem, he was just getting on with it, as normal. A reply asked if he caught the virus, passed it on and someone died because of him, would that be his problem. That's it in a nutshell for me, would anybody be happy to know someone had died because of them? I certainly wouldn't.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Many would see controls on entry as human rights violation,in the same way they see mask wearing.

Governments can do little I’d the people are so dumb and we are dumb which is all to evident.

Boris has made many mistakes and Starmer s nationwide address the other night shows political point scoring is uppermost ,even now.

Well then we agree to disagree.
All i see is ghost towns, empty shops, restaurants, cinemas etc etc. And people following the rules.
I think you are doing a disservice to the folk of Britain and elsewhere, soon it will be 12 months of lockdowns and restrictions, yes you get the odd cases, but in the main, i think people in general have been marvellous.
Nah! Don't do Facebook so cant comment on that.
Remember Handcock's address to the house in February, ill remind you, there's no need to panic, its all in hand, well i call that out as BS.
Couldn't give a flying FCUK about politics, if Labour had made a mess of it all id be just as critical.

Disagree, i think many would say that a closure of our borders, would have been the right thing to do, i've advocated it from the start, in fact id go as far to say, we should have closed our borders sooner.
So answer this, where has the new variant come from, 'ill tell you, its come from abroad, and why, because our borders are still open, for idiots to go on holiday, or us accepting folk from other countries, and doing FA about it, its not to do with the odd group walking around without masks, rocket science it aint.
Please read how other countrys have dealt with it. We are not a third world country, we were ill prepared, but hay its too late now, so lets go around pointing the finger at ordinary folk, these guys (government) are supposed protecting us, looking after our best interests. Our fault nah, your way off beam.

Some of what you say I agree with ;my point is how WE as a nation handle this.

WE are basically to blame as WE SPREAD IT.

As for third world, well .that is debatable. In many ways,we are,not economically but socially and morally without question. We have utterly lost the fundamentals of family life and social structure ,the most basic of all.

Still,opinions.

I think, bewteen you both, you are right. It's to do with the politicians and the public.

Look at some of the comments, on here and on WOL stories, there are too many people who've decided this is not as serious as they say, that don't care and are just carrying on as normal AND a lot are in both camps. There are those who simply forget themselves and accidentally break rules too but tey're not the problem.

The politicians got (and still get) far too much wrong and far too many people are being stupid.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

I don't doubt for a moment we're in serious situation but until the authorities actually go in hard in the way of confiscating vehicles, fines etc instead of words of guidance then people will continue to take the mick .MPs still procrastinating about how to manage the influx of visitors , that should have been along with many other issue been resolved months ago .

In general i think as a nation we have handled it pretty well, its the respective Governments whole have made a hash of things, not one single thing they have done, have they done well, not one. hell we cant even act as a united country, Scotland, Ireland Wales and England all separate ways, what a cock up.
So forgetting that the respective Governments have ballsed it all up to start.
Maybe we do spread it, going to the shops for food, maybe its the Hospitals you tell me, 'cos there's naff all else open.
As for society, yes i agree to an extent it is broken.

Boundy.
Me ol mucker,we are soft as a nation. No more the brave innovation barnstorming nation of yore.
We have kids who cream "mental health" when someone tells them something.

Tough is what many in Africa and Asia face not the minimal disruption to what is important to life.

We are clueless.

The only thing that I clear is that the virus is spread by HUMANS and we are told what to do and not to but many object. It is the very core of the problem.

Finally, witness the d1ckheads storming Washington.Hardly a mask insight so more deaths to come by the thousand in USA as a direct result. And this is because a rather vain clown of a President cant accept he was beaten in a contest for President. As a result,4 people died as a direct result of his edition.

This is relevant as we have the same mentality here in many.
