| David Lammy on 15:47 - Nov 13 by FieryJack | I get your point. However, my point was that very few, if any, of those named politicians get mauled on here with the particular relish that Abbot and Lammy do. Letwin, Buckland etc. I've barely heard mentioned on here. Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't help but feel their skin colour has something to do with it, for at least some of posters, anyway. |
I remember at least 8 of them getting trashed completely and I didn't even mention Rees Mogg who got a real mullering. Bojo still gets stick....Grayling was always getting slaughtered. Come at it from the other angle, why, when an MP;s says or does something ridiculous that some people always claim it's because they are black? We can go stateside, Is Kammala Harris a hypocrite becaise she's black or because she was accusing Biden of stuff until she was nominated for VP and all of a sudden she's his best friend. Not an MP I know but is Dominic Cummings an utter idiot because he's white or because he chose to obey his own rules during lockdown and then made up a fantasy story to excuse it.

They’re fair game as long as you mock what they say, do or what they believe in. I think the racist abuse they receive on a daily basis is abhorrent. But they’re also both guilty of making sweeping and derogatory comments about white people that would be considered racist if it were the other way around. They should be condemned for that too.

Or do you only perk up and notice when the object of derision is black? It’s become something of a Pavlovian reflex after relentless media conditioning. For what it’s worth I find Soubry the most pointless of the lot.

Well she’s a woman so that makes you an evil sexist misogynist who is scared of a woman with an opinion.

Yet you seem to be completely missing Ebo’s actual and overt sexist abuse If anyone was on here using skin colour as an insult you would be on it like a shot, and quite correctly. (Except you seemed to give gammon your tacit approval, perhaps showing your own discrimination) However it seems using slang words for female genitalia as abuse, or common insults used against women as abuse, is OK. Please don’t try to say it is different or you really will be showing up your bias Come on fiery, what about those poor left behind white boys in school, who are abused and despised for their colour, their sex, their ancestors (who were probably little more than slaves themselves and risked absolute starvation to stand up against slavery when the blessed Guardian was standing against them). Presumably it is OK for them to be racially abused and they should apologise for their white privilege. As for Mr L wasn’t he in the past raising issues himself, which he is now calling others racist for daring to mention?

No, I think I'm pretty resistant to "relentless media conditioning", and generally try to stay out of the racial debates on here. For what it's worth, I found the recent brouhaha around Greg Dyke's use of supposed offensive and racist language re. black footballers absurd and irritating. Now, Anna Soubry, I found quite tolerable for a Tory, and whatever her opinions, or her way of expressing them, I can't help but have a soft spot for her

In fact 2 of my stepsons could fairly be described as being part of the uneducated, white, working class underclass - or "chavs" as some would have it. I'm very far from being a Guardian "luvvie", believe me. Also, I've been racially abused for my whiteness. But, none of that stops me from thinking Laurence Fox and his ilk are utter filth. Life's just too complicated sometimes 😳

| David Lammy on 14:35 - Nov 13 by Highjack | Lammy and Abbott routinely get mocked because they are absolute idiots who routinely come out with the most ludicrous gaffes and nonsense. For balance, Boris, Trump, Kamala and Biden all get routinely slaughtered on here. Rees Mogg has been labelled “the haunted pencil”. Wee Jimmy Sturgeon, Lady Nugee, Soubry etc. have all been mocked and criticised regularly. |
Exactly, but they don’t see that.

I doubt he could find Wales on a map of Wales Kilky. I know you like to endorse politicians based entirely on their skin colour or genitalia but even you must admit he is a little bit thick?

He's not the sharpest tool in the box but he's got some way to go to match the titans of idiocy like Greyling, Abbott and Burgon.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

I don't understand why a tory MP being as thick as Ayers rock is any defence of Lammy? Raab being thick doesn't make Lammy any less thick.
