Can't people stay away from the drink for a few weeks ? It appears not. Alcy nation.

You seem to think you know more about it than most on here.
I trust what the experts say unlike you. If they say the virus takes 15 minutes to spread at 2 metres I dont pretend I know better and dont think like you that everything is just not true. I dont try to say that deaths that are classed as covid only occur for other reasons. 14 deaths in 3 weeks in one nursing home but no doubt you think they would have died within 3 months and they only died because they had other conditions. I have just lost an ex colleague who was in a coma for over 4 weeks. No doubt according to you he didnt die because of it as you normally say.

Yes, read the question and the answer I gave.
I did.. But I can't imagine for one moment, the way the conversation went for you to say, were they covid free when they came into hospital. Or even if someone was saying to you, they just would not say that, well highly unlikely.

Only 14% of cases have been put down to pubs. Most cases are spread at home but we're being allowed a 3 family bubble. Which will cost more lives?
Like I pointed out earlier, hospitality and shops combined are blamed for 28% of cases. Do you understand that? 72% of cases are from elsewhere. Has the Senedd published the stat for how many cases are caught at home?
Keep an eye on the stats for the 2/3 weeks after Christmas.
It's difficult to stop meetings at home, as people don't listen, but it can be prevented in pubs

Test and trace is being used to inform decision making and pubs have been responsible for a fair bit of the upsurge in South Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire.
I feel sorry for the publicans who’ve made an effort to get things right because their being punished for the lack of effort made by a fair few of their brethren who don’t give a ....! I’d have allowed pubs and restaurants to stay open on the proviso a substantial meal was served, there was say a 2 hour maximum window to eat and drink, social distancing was in place as was track and trace.

There is always going to be many caught at home just like many catch it in Care Homes and students catch it in Halls and HMOs. If someone in a household gets it then it usually spreads. The question is where did the one who brought in get it. Trying to stop that is the issue so it doesnt spread. Where people live in close proximity it is almost impossible to stop its spread. That was the same problems years ago with things like Measles and Chicken Pox.

Spoke to a mate of mine from Bristol (on the phone) he told me his wife had a positive covid test result last week, so he and his son and daughter isolated, then went for a test three days later, him and his son were negative but his daughter tested positive.
They all live in the same house, this virus is very odd.

I entirely agree which is why I think the 3 family bubble is a silly idea. Would you want to be in a house with maybe a dozen others, some have been to the pub, kids at school?
That's why one council area has said it's closing schools early, against Drakers wishes.
Thing is, if people are determined to drink and flout other rules we may see people getting together in their houses, wouldn't that be worse than being at a pub?
Drakeford already relaxed rules once because "people will break the rules anyway if we don't" so what's stopping people having friends around for drinks? You know it'll happen because some people are beyond stupid. At least pubs can be monitored.

Rubbish, I know of 3 families on our development where a child has been sent home from school, had a test, was positive, guess what, nobody else in the household of 4 or 5 have.
Totally contradicts what you said.
So what makes you think that pubs and restaurants are more dangerous?

Or the tests are not fit for purpose, as has been proven

There is no science behind it. It’s just a completely arbitrary decision. If you’re at risk in a pub, you’re at the same risk in a hairdressers, the science wouldn’t differ. If anything people are closer to people for longer in a hairdressers, especially the way these ladies like to talk bollocks for hours.
BOLL0CKS
There is science .
If you're in a pub, no mask, you're on your 5th beer (1st in your case) and then you start shouting your mouth off, this carries on for a few hours, much more chance.
Grow up.

Not everyone to a pub to get in that state.
What is the problem with having 1 or 2 drinks with a meal, and what is the problem after 6pm?

I have seen the pictures but is it the pubs fault what people do in the street? Maybe we should ask why the rules aren't enforced as well? If pubs could only serve limited amounts the drunken stupidity wouldn't happen so much.
Is it better to ruin peoples lives financially? That brings long term health problems too. There has to be a better way.
It's not the pubs fault, of course it isn't, none of this is.
But the p1ssed people in the street are because of the pubs.
What would you rather do instead? Shoot them on leaving?
