QPR v Swansea City Saturday 26th December 2020 Loftus Road Kick Off 3pm
Match Officials To be confirmed
Recent history The first game between the two sides was in 1914. It was in the FA Cup. 31 Jan 1914 Swansea Town 1 Queens Park Rangers 2 This was before the first world war and the invention of the iphone 6. In fact even the iphone 4s.
29 Sep 2018 Swansea City v Queens Park Rangers 3-0 League Championship 13 Apr 2019 Queens Park Rangers v Swansea City 4-0 League Championship 21 Aug 2019 Queens Park Rangers v Swansea City 1-3 League Championship 05 Jan 2020 Queens Park Rangers v Swansea City 5-1 FA Cup 11 Feb 2020 Swansea City v Queens Park Rangers 0-0 League Championship
The last game between the sides was a 0-0 draw. QPR had already knocked the swans out of the FA Cup after the swans had won at Loftus Road a few months before. The last time before 2018 the sides met was in the Premier League in 2015. The game ended 1-1, earlier on that season the swans had won 2-0 at the Liberty.
Everyone's favourite Swansea City player of a certain age will say Robbie James was a class act. He also played for QPR and went to Wembley with them. Above is when Robbie was a panini sticker. The oddest thing about Robbie was he only gained five Welsh caps. Remarkably Jeremy Charles was also a Panini sticker, he also played for QPR and went to Wembley with Oxford United.
What do we know about Queens Park Rangers ? not a lot, and that IS the link really, if you add up the year QPR were formed which is 1882. So, 1+8+8+2 it equals 19. And that's no surprise as 19 is the average IQ of the smallest team in London. They have ( not unlike Cardiff) small team syndrome where they try and persuade everyone they are a big club, but fail time and time again to prove it. Their fans are all employed by McCains chips. However, because they are so thick none of them are employed by McCains chips. The idea is they can get access to the biggest chips for their shoulders. McCains Chips, every QPR supporters dream job.
Apparently Christmas is a time for goodwill to all folk, well, not for QPR , when Jesus and Moses got all pissed up once they wanted goodwill to all men by all accounts, that is except QPR, in the bible Jesus makes this more than clear, QPR he once said, are shite. QPR are the worst team in London except Brentford who are not as bad as Chelsea or Tranmere, the last town isn't in London but if it was it would be. Tranmere are as good as Arsenal on a good day. QPR are not, their fans are also very sneaky, and five of them are called Pete, their favourite hobby is hiding behind the police outside a pub so they can safely shout abuse at visiting fans. They did this last season and all went back in to the pub very quickly. They are the new Crystal Palace in that respect.
Great QPR players Talk Sport sexist Rodney Marsh also played for QPR Stan Bowles apparently was good if you are over 60 and bored, but he was good, better than you anyway. This is Tony Currie, another old man who played for QPR, Tony's dad invented the balti and vindaloo varieties of curry. Tony doesn't like curry but loves a scotch egg. He was a great player, but not at QPR, well, a little bit but he was great at Leeds and Sheffield United, both of which are quite close to west London, give or take.

Not really. Under Warnock they'd literally lump it towards the box and hope for a flick on or lucky bounce. To some success i might add. But we're no where near that.
Yeah we'd never lump it forwards...

All teams do, some more than others, some a lot more than others.
Brazil. Barcelona. Holland. Liverpool. All. Lump. It. Forward. Occasionally.
Swansea do. Occasionally.
You’re trying to devalue and discredit Steve Cooper by an association with the Warnock style. It’s incomparable. You’re well wide of the mark.
Exactly. Its a solid defence with still ethos on trying playing play out from the back. When we do go long its usually a measured long pass for our lively forwards to run into. Warnocks defenders lumping it aimlessly into the opposition box with the simple intention of causing panic it is not.

Yes with big strong players especially forwards, playing the percentage game, and hoping to win second balls and using a direct style certainly is not us. It’s plainly complete bollox to make that comparison.
Only an idiot would eat a turkey curry on Christmas day
Certainly not. We don’t have enough flair and attacking pace or quality in our squad at the moment to be equipped to adopt that style either. It’s some way between the two with more with more emphasis defensively imo. And it’s working well. So far.

Exactly. The comparison is just ridiculous. In addition to what you've described, what epitomises the Warnock/Pulis/Allardyce style for me is: any free kick in your own half is taken by the goalkeeper, the keeper never tries to play out from the back - it's always long, and, if allowed, instead of kicking from hand the keeper will roll the ball out of his box as far as he can before launching downfield. We do not play like that.
What's clear is that we have an edge to our game now, which we haven't had for a long time, but we still try and play football when we can. I quite enjoyed the game against Barnsley in a strange kind of way. Wouldn't want to see it every week mind.

Perhaps some people would prefer 700 passes a game and no goals? I’m quite happy we’re second to be honest.

'We don’t have enough flair and attacking pace or quality in our squad ...' Yes we do, but we also have a manager who doesn't play the way and doesn't pick players to play that way.
And, the way the ref ignored Ayew at teh end of the second half was a disgrace.

Not just fans less than impressed with Cooper's subs policies?
I think it is only about 3 people on here not impressed with Cooper's use of sub. The rest of us are more than happy why change a team that are in control. In games we have been losing he has never been afraid to bring on two or three subs on at half time.

Are they the only two options?
Ok then. What was wrong with the displays at Cardiff, Norwich and Brentford to name but three? A lot of slick passing and excellent performances. Top of the league and just relegated only just managed to squeeze past us in a game we really should have won. Ditto Brentford but we drew and Cardiff was one of the best performances of the season. Looking back even further we should have hit five past Wycombe away but to be fair that was the first match of the season so understandable.
It’s not like we’re playing anti football , is it?

This a discussion? Ok I 'll join in. Yet again more Cooper love ins. It's embarrassing.
No subs again ? Why? I know ,we can't question the managerial genius that is Steve.
Yesterday, first half we couldn't get anywhere near QPR who hadnt won in 7 and got out of jail as their strikers were disgustingly inept. Derby was exactly the same only they took theirs. Derby since haven't exactly blown team away either. We have had good fortune and it might run out.
Why do we have this attitude against teams that are struggling?
Happy to be second. It's still December ffs.
Norwich lost yesterday and this league is there to be won and it wouldn't take much for u to storm it. Hopefully, we can.

You really don't do yourself any favours, Derby had played one game since beating us, yesterday and went down to 10 men after 20 minutes and lost 1 nil.
Your hatred of Cooper and Woodman is baffling, 2nd in the table, and the best defence in the football league.
And as for yesterday, another cracking 3 points on the road, 2 more games to the halfway point and we are amassing a points total that if repeated in the second half of the season would give us an excellent chance of automatic promotion.
Why on earth is a manager getting praise for doing a tremendous job embarrassing?
You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game

You really do not get it do you. Have you any idea of what hate is?You seem to have led a very sheltered life and I'll tell you this;facing hate face to face /hand to hand is not the same as asking questions of a football manager.
As for favours?I don't need them. This is not the site where you see a gang of misguided ,deluded net luminaries ganging up on a poster who makes them feel awkward or uncomfortable. If you want to simply abuse me then go to the other site where you will find posts even now trawling the depths of human nature .
So a recap-Derby stuffed us QPR didnt Derby buried their chances QPR didnt
