Back sooner than we think according to his Mrs on twitter. Hopefully next game.

Seen enough of Palmer now, he can go back for me, Yan a better footballer and with Gibbs White and Byers back, there’s no need for a loan space filled.

Don’t get me wrong I know he was only on 6/7 minutes, and I maybe just being a bit OTT after a big win, but he took the absolute p*ss out of them when he come on. Oozes class imo.

We will really need him in the second half of the season. If we can maintain a spot in the top 3 or 4 I expect teams to shut up shop when they play us. MGW will need to be the key to unlock them.

Proper class above.

Big conundrum though. Who the heck gives way ?

First 11 as today for now. Dhanda the biggest casualty, won’t get a look in.

At home against teams coming for a point I’d play MGW next to grimes and Dhanda in front. Very harsh on Fulton and Smith but it would only be for some games.

It would be beyond mental to consider two changes to a midfield that’s just p*ssed over the midfields of two of our top 6 rivals. MGW will fit in and rotate with Smith Fulton and Grimes and then Dhanda will get the odd game. Probably in the cup.

Need goals at home.

MGW will not be a rotation player when fully fit, not a chance.

Dhanda is simply too lightweight. Sorry.

The end.

Midfield :
#1 Grimes
#2 MGW
#3 Fulton offensive / Smith defensive options

Would like to see Jack Evans develop as #1 sub for Grimes, and get Sheehan back

Don’t forget that Grimes is the no1 defensive option but can be replaced by either Smith or Fulton. We have an embarrassment of riches in midfield. Twice this week we’ve dominated two top 6 rivals , one a relegated PL side. It’s getting interesting now

It is and we have shown we can front up to any side.

With a little extra ,we really could go up,but that would raise enormous questions about the Owners.

I would love to see it happen

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not

Interesting subject isn't it.

I see Grimes more as Core to our entire game - at the heart of midfield, proper CM. Reads the game impeccably so gets into position before others - whether that be supporting the frontline, backline or WBs.

The beauty of riches we have around him allows him to be at the very core. Smith (mainly) does the grunt and protects; Fulton (mainly) is on the front foot linking with Ayew etc. And they can all interchange. Proper fluid middle, to complement our fluid frontline and fluid WBs.

Now add MGW to the mix. Best midfield in the league.

Ive never shared the love for Grimes as a total player but recently he has become much better and makes less mistakes and has clearly worked on his game so credit to the lad.

His shooting is the worst aspect of his game.If it were better he wouldnt be with us,for sure. He is a very good pro though.

We are blessed with riches in midfield. Just a shame we still do not truly finish as well as we could.

I was lucky enough to witness his goal away at Yeovil (under Potter), a proper worldy, so I live in hope (as does Curt when he says, "you should see his shots in training").

(btw - subtle sting in the tail there, as per - were you always the bad cop in the 'good cop, bad cop' routines ?!)

Not being pedantic but we scored 2 yesterday , but yes Gibbs -White on what he's shown before his injury needs to be involved

And yet Smith popped up with two assists yesterday. There’s a fair bit more to his game than just the hard yards - he was finding Roberts with ease yesterday and playing him in almost at will. Proper diamond he is - and for free!
