| What actually makes a club big ? on 13:01 - Jan 12 with 324 views | Catullus | I think you have to have several things 1, sustained success which then provides... 2, a big history 3 a big stadium 4 large crowds no matter which division you're in 5 and I think this is the clincher, a worldwide fanbase. The ability to sell merchandise in the millions of pounds worth across the globe and have foreign fans jetting in most weeks. There aren't that many really big clubs. If you have hardly any time in the top league and can only fill your stadium for big matches, even in the top league, you may be big compared to some but not actually BIG. Man United, Liverpool, Real, Barca, Bayern Munich, they are BIG clubs. Everton, Man City Chelsea and Leeds are in the next tier for me. Cith and Chelsea make it because they got lucky though, bought by cash rich idiots who spurged billions. Not many clubs could be taken over like Man United were, have a massive takeover loan leveraged against the club and still be up there. Even with Solskjaer in chare and poor investment they are still top 6 NB obviously there are clubs misiing off the big list, I wasn't aiming to name them all! | |

and why they think any different is laughable , like us, they've spent most of their history in the lower leagues with little or no success in terms of cup wins etc. The differences are between us , their sense of self entitlement , us we're self confident | |
