| Giggs on 19:50 - Mar 14 by ReslovenSwan1 | The only manager to win anytthing wth a bad team in tournaments is Otto Rheianagl with the Greeks in 2006. They had some goodish players but no stars. I cannot name one of them. Mind you cheeky chappie Ian Wright could not name any of them at the time despite working for the BBC and have them written down in frontof him. . Two sylabils is is tops for him. Money for old rope. |
Otto went nuts when he was robbed by the English in 2002, free kick after free kick and extra time was given to them until they scored, it was shocking and old Otto knew it.

| Giggs on 01:18 - Mar 14 by shingle | Back on topic, what a pair of poor managers Coleman and Giggs are, thankfully we had Bale and Ramsey |
Thankfully those “poor managers” managed to create a team ethic and a community for the wales squad that meant Bale and Ramsay actually bothered to turn up and play and wanted to play their part in a successful welsh team Manager of a country is no longer the pinaccle of a management career. It’s now usually for ex player rookies or old farts who can’t get a top job anymore.

| Giggs on 18:39 - Mar 10 by shingle | Take Bale and Ramsey out of the equation and Wales would probably not not have qualified, i think most would agree with that, Coleman was not capable in being a great manager for anyone as his record proves elsewhere, he just got lucky with Wales due two two world class players being on top of there game and an easier qualifying process than in the past. |
Is this a joke? Ramsey hardly played and Bale was nowhere near as good as years gone by. Edit - Sorry you was on about 2016, Coleman did an excellent job, ask the Welsh players. [Post edited 15 Mar 2021 7:35]

Agree with the bit about Ramsey and bale but Coleman would never make a club manager failed everywhere he gone apart from Fulham where he had most expensive squad in league,,with Wales he had good players and a good camaraderie, club management is totally different day to day players falling out with you not getting picked when in contracts etc,,international football is an honour to be in squad for couple days week and a get together where its like a boys meet up,the atmosphere totally different, and not the pressure of day to day management, and the welsh team usually picked itself with good players we had..he was lucky in a way he took over when he did with great players and good players in their prime...

Coleman and the coaches helped create that atmosphere where the players were enjoying playing for Wales again. Previously managers who had top class players at their disposal either weren't able to get them functioning as a team (80s - Hughes, Rush, Nev, Ratcliffe) or get the best players actually turning up (90 / 00s - Giggs etc). Gary Speed deserves credit too for this. Colemans probably suited to international football, hes a passionate guy who can motivate, didn't have to worry about transfers or finances etc as he would in club football. The camaraderie didn't come by luck. And neither did getting poorer players like Gunter, Taylor, Vokes, Hennessey, Edwards, J Williams, King contributing a lot either. [Post edited 15 Mar 2021 8:57]

Go look at the stats Bale and Ramsey scored more than half the goals between them and put in world class performances, in 2016, who scored the goals in beating the likes of Belgium, Israel, Cyprus,,Andorra, even in 2020 it was Ramsey who got the 2 goals in beating Hungary and it was Bale who scored saving us from defeat against Croatia the two top teams in the group, there were also games when these two run the show by themselves, do you honestly believe we would have qualified without them, come on now be realistic it was down to them. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

And that makes them bad manager's how??? Setting up teams and tactics to play to the strengths of the teams top players is good management in my book. Plenty of managers with good player's at their disposal didn't achieve good results.

Explanation for what? For your judgement that Giggs isn't a good manager? Already asked that. What's there to worry about?

Simple really we have seen what happens with his setting up of teams and tactics, in teams he has managed without 2 outstanding world class players running the show.

Why would i be weary of asking you about an inanimate metal object? I'd rather stick to the subject,go to the non football threads if you want to talk about tin. Apologies, my knowledge of that particular metal isn't up to much. If you don't want explain your thinking behind your viewpoint about Giggs being a bad manager (which seems rather illogical from the outside) that's up to you.

Giggs decisions on team selection is baffling picking players like Dylan Levitt and matt smith before senior pros if they were any good fair enough....I'm all for giving youngsters a chance but they not even getting first team games at clubs

Well Matt Smith is getting games now and has played wok for Wales, so he's worthy of a place especially seeing as Allen's been injured. Agee with you on Levitt though, really don't see the attraction. Vaulks must be fuming. Levitt i don't think has played in any qualifiers mind you, just the nations league, which we won..... So difficult to be too harsh because we're getting results.
