It depends, a normal barrister would get a set fee under legal aid (non means tested in the Crown Court) it depends how long it lasts but probably a couple of grand. (You get a refresher for every day the trial lasts) If he hires a QC, he will pay privately then it could be anything. They charge what they like, especially to a squillionaire like Giggs. Not really a type of case suited to a QC. Not complicated, not overly long, you need an everyday brief who is used to this types of cases of everyday. The jury will know if he’s a qc ( they use the title when referring to them) and may see it as his trying to buy his way out of it.

| Giggs on 19:07 - Apr 23 by NotLoyal | It's unlikely he will be claiming legal aid. 😂 It's rather unusual for a full on barrister to be in a magistrates court. The charges even if they prove him guilty won't get him any jail time. He can of course elect for trial in the crown court, completely different ball game there. Sir John or Keither will know more on that. [Post edited 23 Apr 2021 19:09]

I disagree re jail time. If he is found to have head butted her, and was a lengthy incident and then controlled her along with assaulting her sister, jail time is very much on the cards, but like I said on a separate thread, it’s impossible to say without knowing the facts.

| Giggs on 05:46 - Apr 30 with 502 views | pikeypaul | The scumbag Giggs has employed the same legal team that got his mate Nicky Butt off charges of beating his wife up. Maybe they specialise in this (the legal team not Giggs and Butt) or just a recommendation from his pal Nicky, the bottom line is he will throw whatever it costs at the case and will walk guilty or not.maybe a slap on the wrists at worse. If he was let’s say a regular scumbag business owner and the complainant a high profile TV. personality it would no doubt end somewhat differently. Anyway who cares? I just hope justice is served and he walks if not guilty and does his sentence if guilty. [Post edited 30 Apr 2021 5:58]
