"People is south Wales CANNOT vote Conservative for fear of hate and contempt from their neighbours, friends and family.
It is 2021 and we still have this pitiful loyalty to a red flag of convenience."
Rich, do they train you at Tory central HQ to come out with these beauts?

To me the ultimate stupidity is voting today basedon what happened 40 years ago. Bojo is a clown but he's not Thatcher. In the same way Starmer is not Blair.
We don't hate the Germans or Japanese today because of what they did in the war. it's completely nonsensical to vote on such prejudices. Saying things like that suggests that Labour voters would still vote labour no matter what was happening because of what Tories did decades back? How bad has Wales got to get before the sheep come to their senses? The days when Labour truly represented the working class are long gone. Labour MP's are part of the system these days, they cheat their expenses, flip houses, take well paid jobs besides being MP's...they do all sorts of things that a true labour person would find distasteful at least and I'm sure many of us would consider criminal. They are just like the Tories no matter what rhetoric they spout. The big difference to me personally is, in Tory run England I would have had my hip replacement done 4 years ago, before the pandemic, before both my knees and my other hip went bad too, before my health degraded and I ended up on other meds and then I would still be working...probably because the pandemic may have changed that.
Edit, Rail electrification was stopped because the costs outweighed the benefits, or would you rather waste money? Before answering remember Drakeford cancelled the M4 relief.
And AGAIN, they are not my "Tory friends" because I do not have a party loyalty. That's one thing you cannot get through your head. I vote for who I consider to be the best choice whoever that is. At the last GE I got pelters from Warwicjhunt for saying none of them were worth voting for so I planned to spoil my ballot. So wrapped up are you in Labour dogma I doubt you'll ever understand.

Ask yourself who organised the Brexit campaign and who was against it
For You Boris Johnson Dominic Cummings Nigel Farage Michael Gove Priti Patel Jacob Rees Mogg Steve Baker John Redwoood ie the most right wing members of the Tory Party
Against Me Ken Clarke Dominic Grieve David Cameron Kier Starmer Plaid SNP Lib Dems Greens Labour Party
All the centre or centre left.
You again have supported the Right Wing as against the centre or left.
It just shows that despite you claiming to be centre left you are really far more right than you try to make out.

The only problem with the rail electrification decision is that they stopped it at Cardiff instead of Newport, or even Bristol Parkway.
The expense of electrifying the South Wales mainline as it is far outstrips the benefits of doing it. The line is too twisty and stops at too many places to be worth the hassle. Hundreds of millions spent to knock 5-10 minutes off a journey time. As big a waste of time as HS2, yet plenty of people complaining about them doing what should have been done with that monstrosity as well.
Yet you and others on here advocate supporting a party who is choosing to waste money on HS2 but could not do the same in Wales with rail electrification to Swansea. Clearly a party showing its contempt for Wales and Swansea in particular and you blame the Welsh government which together with the EU helped put money into the Bay Campus, Swansea Vale and the Baglan Energy Park amongst others.

Which party have I advocated supporting?
Are you truly that blinkered that you believe anyone who thinks Drakeford and the WG have made a dogs breakfast of basically everything they touch is a Tory? Not to mention that you've leapt to the conclusion that I somehow "support" HS2?
A pointless waste of money is a pointless waste of money, be it HS2, test and trace, subsidising Rhoose Airport or spending £10m per mile to knock 5 minutes off a journey between Newport and Cardiff.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

It was not EU money it was UK taxpayers money paid to the EU. The EU then returned some of this money to support these projects after keeping their cut.
It is amazing that people despite being told this cannot grasp the basic fact. As far as the electrification between Cardiff and Swansea it was never a sound business cases as only the bi mode trains would use it which only run 1 or 2 per hour at peak times. The other trains including the Manchester to west Wales service would still have to run on diesel ad would most other local services.
The money would have been better spent upgrading the track which is speed limited. Nowhere in Wales can the train do over 100mph. They can only do 125mph between Bristol parkway and Paddington.

I understand what you are saying especially where I have lived for the last year. It is a lovely middle class area. Choice down to school and where wife works. For the last twenty, it has been very different. I have been living in an area which you would say was strong Labour but many of the locals hated Peter Hain. Hard working people who graft for this country with relatively small reward. I love living by the sea but my favourite house is in Trebanos. The people are the same but values are different. I feel safer where I am now. I lived in the lovely borough of Richmond. My family had property in the royal borough of Kensington and Chelsea. They could say that they were going to vote Labour and no one would really care ( though they voted Conservative) so I get your point but people in the areas you mentioned would just think you were mad or joking after what happened. I know you have slated Bofo and Patel and they really deserve it but your go ro narrative is mostly attacking people who vote Labour in this area.

Drakeford 1 Johnson 0
Says the left wing mouthpiece of the Labour Welsh government. Meanwhile 95% of people I speak to in Wales, most of who vote Labour think Drakeford has been a disaster, with his failed two weak lockdown followed by a free for all. His newest is to let supermarkets sell non essential goods while local shops can't

That sounds like a prologue to a book,Jase. As you know,I have been asked several time to get my arse on gear and write abut my life.
That was actually a very good read.
Make no mistake,I detest all politicians.Only exception was Frank Field ,who was great ,yet he got dumped by Birkenhead and Labour -to their shame. There was a guy who dedicated his life to child poverty but also stipulated people should be responsible for their lives and not simply abrogate responsibility.
Met him many times and he was ferocious with a searing interlect. He was feared by conservatives and hated by new Labour and old Labour alike. Everyone listened to him.
Some years ago we had a Conservative MP ,Lynda Chalker ,ex Roedean girl and wifey did her suits for her. Absolutely delightful woman with real class ."posh" without doubt but a caring MP for all. She was very supportive of Police too unlike the cowards in government now.
No matter what,I call it a I see it. I am beholden to nobody nor any club of convenenience.

Was Jeremy Corbyn against leaving?
Wales voted leave, is Wales a tory stronghold?
You're at it again, conflating individual decisions with party loyalty. I have no party loyalty and every political compass test I have ever done puts me centre left.
How many times do I have to repeat it before you get it into your head. I have voted tory once in my life, every other time I voted Labour apart from when I spoiled my ballots.
You voted PC once, you must be an ardent Plaid Cymru supporter then.....no, it doesn't quite work does it.
Being centre left makes me close to being on the right, it makes me a centrist not a far right tory.
You could ask me my views on nationalisation, on unions, on welfare, on the minimum wage, on the monarchy, on nuclear weapons and on inequality. So why don't you? Well obviously because you don't want the truth, you just try to make false claims about me because I think Drakeford is useless and you love him.

Exactly OHL, if Jezza and me agree I must be a far left Labour voter, or does it make Corbyn a Tory too?
Some people are so blind. Vote Labour because, well, they're tories innit. NO, vote for the best choice in your area no matter who that is.
If on the day I believe Plaid are the best choice I'll vote Plaid, if I think it's tory I'llvote tory.
Apart from anything else HMRC calls me a tory because he seems to think it's an insult of some kind, at the very least he thinks it's wrong. Yet most that is wrong with Wales this last 20 years has been overseen by a Labour government.
Looking at it from HMRC's point of view I guess most of Wales must be tory now,

Corbyn voted to stay. It isnt surprising about Benn. The extremes of both parties have always been anti EU. It has been the centre ground that has always been pro EU.
As for some of your other comments they are complete rubbish. People vote as they wish and do so in Polling Booths where nobody knows which way they voted.

Heath lied to us about the EU, Major, Cameron, Ashdown, Blair, lied to us.
Funny that, there's a healthy mix of tories in there and you're agreeing with them, you must be a tory too.
Who'd have thought it, ex HMRC just proved he's a tory despite what he says.
And of course the promise made on the bus wasn't a lie.
Dont you find it odd that most leading parties agreed with us being in the EU for nearly 50 years yet the right wing of the Tory party and a few on the left of the Labour party dont and guess who you back.
You talk about sovereignty. Have you ever considered what laws they want removed.
Trade union laws and other laws the EU have passed giving workers rights such as TUPE, rights to consultation, things like freedoms. These are all policies that are right wing and anti trade union. Why do you think they are opposed by the Labour Party and others over years.

The same to have forgotten all the rights given to workers by the tories.
The right to vote on stikes. Not told to go on unofficial strikes. The right to work without physical attacks by flying pickets, verbal abuse just for going to work. Bullying and intimidation by union officials.

If you looked back over this site you would find many things said about brexit and posts from me agreeing that BOTH sides told lies. I was a leaver long before Bojo took the political choice to be one. I was a leaver beofre Bojo made his choice and when the tories (Cameron and Osborne, THAT leaflet) were backing remain but don't let the truth affect your opinion.
I don't find it odd that any politician wanted us to remain. Neil Kinnock was an ardent leaver until the day he realised he could get another well paid public job and make a fortune. Corbyn was also a leaver most of his life, tell me, are they right wing?
Yet again you don't want to engage with me on what I actually believe in other areas, you concetrate on the bits that (to you anyway) prove I'm a tory. It's disingenuous BS. I was a trade Union (CWU) representtative, I'm a strong believer in workers rights and the right to representation at work. Somewhere else on this site I have posted about political beliefs and that I believe in policies across the political spectrum, things from both left and right. I can't be bothered to go searching from it but it';s there somewhere. Things I believe that would be considered right wing are stronger immigration laws, harsher criminal punishments. Most of what I believe is left wing which is why my compass swings to the left.
I don't remember discussing sovereignty with you?
Why did I choose leave? Because I believe them to be undemocratic, corrupt, self serving. I believe that they are empre building and in the end more likely to cause trouble than stop it. They are protectionist and their policies are damaing to the third world. Their CAP policies are damaging the environment. Mostly though I don't know why we need so many levels of expensive politicians. No wonder there's no money for anything esle.
OOh, while I'm here, I also believe in getting rid of the monarchy and having an elected head of State. I'd abolish the House of Lords and have an elected upper chamber too. I'd scrap the Monarchist honours system completely. How very left wing of me!
You also obviously, or maybe intentionally missed the posts about Starmer, where I said he was a Labour leader I probably could vote for. You reckon I don't criticise Bojo much (though the very name Bojo is a bit disrespectful) but can you find anything on here where I have criticised Starmer?
Face it mun, I'm not a tory though neither am I a LAbour supporter. I'm a floating voter who makes the best choice he can when the election comes around.
There's nothing you can say that changes the truth of that.
Thank you Welsh government on 17:42 - Mar 25 by onehunglow
I voted remain. Not sure what that make me.
Mind you,if Jezza had voted to remain then I would have voted leave.
Right now,the Leave vote seems to have been the right one.
You're a remainer, see taxman, myself and OHL have different political opinions yet we don't pigeon hole each other as Tory or Labour.
It all comes down to my criticsms of Drakeford. You are a Drakers fan boy and can't stand people saying nasty things about him. You want me to be a Tory because in your warped opinion someone can't criticise Drakeford unless they are Tory.
