| Sheffield Wednesday v Swansea City : Matchday Thread AFTER SHOW PARTY 17:00 - Apr 11 with 10118 views | NotLoyal | This game is another game in the EFL Championship, it could a game that Swansea have in hand, but for a game of football that’s silly and makes it rugby. If Swansea perform as they did on Saturday, then if Sheffield Wednesday play the same as Millwall, then the swans will win 3-0. EFL Championship Tuesday April 13th 2021 Kick off 6pm Hillsborough, Sheffield Match Officials JEREMY SIMPSON Jonathan Hunt and Wade Smith Fourth Official : Stephen Martin Watch the game on iFollow and Swans TV Remember the home game at the Liberty, that was the game referee Andy Woolmer was accused by Steve Cooper of having personal grudges towards him. Cooper was fined, but nothing came about as a result of Cooper’s remarks. Tango man, yup, the banned fat bloke Paul Gregory, aka Tango, was banned for two years from Hillsborough after insulting female stewards. That was in September 2019. As it’s now 2021 and hardly any supporters since then have seen a game his ban will be very short. Lucky fat bastard. Sheffield Wednesday record v Swansea City Games won: 13 Games drawn: 13 Games lost: 8 Sacked by both clubs Garry’s Monk, pointing at his shirt and being all loyal, hard luck that’s me pal Mr Monk was manager at Swansea and Sheffield Wednesday before he was sacked. He has also been sacked by Middlesbrough and other clubs like Birmingham City. Oh, and Leeds. There may have been others. He is currently somewhere else, probably spending all the pay off money he hasn’t earned. We don’t really know as his Mrs, who for some reason tweets about football ( well, it pays her bills ) hasn’t been arguing with other women in the world she travels in called “I’m special because I married a footballer” If anyone finds this annoying, then put a letter through Monks letter box, I did and I rang the door bell. He was home, I had been watching him for three days. It could have been a bit longer but I ran out of my meds after two days, and my toes hurt from the whispering. Injury and latest news Sheffield Wednesday will be without Massimo Luongo for the rest of the season after a fresh update on his injury situation emerged ahead of tonight’s Championship outing. The Owls have been putting in the final touches ahead of their clash with promotion-chasing Swansea City this evening and the injury situation at Hillsborough Stadium is still pretty bleak. It has now been revealed that the Australian midfielder will not return for their final six league games. Ben Cabango has been sent away from the squad on joining up with them yesterday afternoon he breached Covid guidelines on the weekend- putting the whole team at risk. BBC Reported Ben Cabango has been sent home by Swansea City after breaching the club's Covid-19 protocolsThe 20-year-old Wales defender has been barred from training and will not be available for Tuesday's Championship trip to Sheffield Wednesday. South Wales Police "responded to a report of a disturbance" in Swansea at around 23:00 BST on Saturday. "Upon arrival a number of individuals were spoken to and stop-searched by officers," added the force. "No offences were identified and no further action was taken." In a statement, Swansea City said: "The club is aware of an incident involving a first-team player that occurred over the weekend. "The player in question has been sent home from the training bubble and as a result will not feature in Tuesday's game against Sheffield Wednesday. "We work closely with Public Health Wales and have a strict set of Covid-19 protocols within the club and we have made these abundantly clear to all players and staff. It is disappointing that these protocols have been breached, and as a club we expect all personnel to adhere to such guidelines in a manner that is indicative of the huge sacrifices made by so many."The club will now conclude the matter internally." Latest two hours before Kick Off Chey Dunkley is expected to miss out due to a hamstring issue although Joost van Aken and midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru have returned to full training. Defender Moses Odubajo, midfielder Massimo Luongo, centre-back Dominic Iorfa and goalkeeper Cameron Dawson will all miss out. For the visitors, striker Liam Cullen closing in on a return to action following almost three months out with an ankle injury. Goalkeeper Steven Benda is expected to play for the Under-23s this week as he steps up his recovery from an ankle issue. Paul Arriola, Jordan Morris and Tivonge Rushesha are all out for the season. Sheffield Wednesday: Keiren Westwood, Liam Palmer, Sam Hutchinson, Joey Pelupessy, Barry Bannan (captain), Adam Reach, Julian Borner, Tom Lees, Josh Windass, Jordan Rhodes, Liam Shaw. Substitutes: Joe Wildsmith, Callum Paterson, Kadeem Harris, Matt Penney, Andre Green, Osaze Urhoghide, Alex Hunt, Izzy Brown, Elias Kachunga. Swansea City: Freddie Woodman; Kyle Naughton, Ryan Bennett, Marc Guehi, Ryan Manning; Jay Fulton, Matt Grimes (captain), Conor Hourihane; Wayne Routledge, Andre Ayew, Jamal Lowe. Substitutes: Ben Hamer, Connor Roberts, Jake Bidwell, Kieron Freeman, Joel Latibeaudiere, Korey Smith, Yan Dhanda, Ollie Cooper, Morgan Whittaker. Routledge is the difference again - as Swansea City win away again ! 13th Apr 2021 20:55It was another very decent display by the swans with Wayne Routledge once again starring for the second away game in a row. The swans took all three points at Hillsborough, and will maintain all is not lost in the chase for second place. It wasn’t pretty, in fact again it was quite frustrating, but overall any win away from home at this stage of the season is most welcome. On seventy five points now, the play offs regardless of the maths is almost certainly guaranteed. 0 Nothing Darren Moore to follow.

| Sheffield Wednesday v Swansea City : Matchday Thread MATCHDAY LATEST TEAMS on 12:16 - Apr 14 by Dr_Parnassus | Pretty good post that, one I find it hard to disagree with. I find it funny that the infamous “brand new approach”, when put under the slightest of scrutiny has now turned into just an approach that has been different to a period of about 10-12 games (if we take out ones we aren’t allowed to count as they don’t fit the narrative ). Just pure nonsense. Give Cooper and the players the credit they deserve and the credit they have deserved most of this season and last. That simple. As a group they have worked incredibly hard to get where we are. We have played possession, passing football many times over and to a far greater degree than we have seen in the last two games, it didn’t take much looking to see that. It’s nothing new. It’s simply been missing while we have been in this slump. I think we are all relieved we have seemingly turned a corner in our difficult period as we were always likely to, as others have that have faced similar slumps. That’s football. |
Yep. Football covers emotion. Without it,then we shouldn’t bother. I am not a cooper fan, even now,nor Woody although he made a terrific save last night . I think he has screwed up our best chance of promotion. My opinion. We seem to have gotten it back but we need a super run to get up automatically. I am no better that anyone else as a fan and I challenge anyone to tell me face to face that they are They will get a lava flow back. I believe all fans should react ,better to overreact .the worst is not to react . That lil Led us on the 80 s when not even cared Good t chew the cud Dr P.

Will report back. |
Massive difference. | | | |

Look at the pass combinations between our midfield 3 and full backs in the Millwall game compared to the midfield 3 and wing backs v Brum. 3 times more involvement. It's unreal and some want to painfully persist and say there was no change of approach?! F me, we threw the Cooper-ball out to touch in the Wall game.

Massive difference between what? They are different games posing different challenges. You aren’t going to make the same pass combinations in every single game because each game requires different things, not always due to the way we set up. A certain team could be overloaded in midfield meaning passes between defenders and forwards are more frequent etc etc Showing a game we dominated in all aspects vs a game in which we were chasing for a large chunk of it is always going to be different. If you compare Millwall to our Cooperball win against Cardiff, I would imagine it would be very similar.

We weren't chasing the game though were we? We conceded in the 91st minute. 352 was worked out by opposition coaches, Bowyer said it himself. Had to be changed, the whole mentality of the squad changed, Jay Fulton mentioned how much more attacking we were. We have the players to do it, always have done.

That's why I asked different to what? I wasn't sure what game you were comparing it to. Like I said, all games are different regardless of when goals are scored. Goals are the obvious game changers but there could be a load of different variables in every game why we play differently or adapt to the match situation. If you compare one good 3-0 win to another good 2-0/3-0 win, you will probably get similar patterns of play.

| Sheffield Wednesday v Swansea City : Matchday Thread AFTER SHOW PARTY on 09:24 - Apr 20 with 581 views | Thornburyswan | Without any doubt the influence of our usual wing backs - Roberts & Bidders- has significantly diminished over the last 8/10 games but not quite so easy to explain why, yes clubs are aware of our standard 3-5-2 formation & have cleared worked on the upfield press to push our WBs back towards our half so it’s very easy to blame Cooper for not reacting & changing our set-up. Nothing wrong with that other than it’s never that simple - just to be clear I’m not defending Cooper (I’m in the ‘he can go in the summer camp’ & that’s regardless of how the season finishes) - but in conjunction with Cooper’s poor handling of this period our players form & potentially ability to play effectively in a 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 is impacting plus our lack of quality attacking options. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

It is simple a matter of inept coaching and man management.

| Sheffield Wednesday v Swansea City : Matchday Thread AFTER SHOW PARTY on 12:04 - Apr 20 with 562 views | 9MilesHigh | If you compare one good 3-0 win to another...... Oh it was the first time we won by 3 goals hahahaa So he throws in a 2-0 for good measure because, simply, the amount of "good games" we've played this season have been negligible. So the Cardiff game gets a mention - well it was only in the last quarter of that game when they went down to 10 men did we really start to take the piss and pass it around. Before that it was a cagey game. Yeah we had more possession than them but doesn't every team. Our passes in that game Total passes 115 - Successful passes 92 - 1st Quarter of game Total passes 116 - Successful passes 89 - 2nd Quarter of game Total passes 99 - Successful passes 69 - 3rd Quarter of game (dropping right away) Total passes 163 - Successful passes 142 - Last Quarter of game - after sending off But again, that was obvious to anyone who actually watched it. It's becoming more and more clear that somebody isn't getting up in the middle of the night to watch us and instead enjoys the league table and stats sites. Someone really is out of their depth. | | | |

Of course, 3-0 wins aren’t the most common of score-lines, my point (for the inflicted) is that if you compare one good win to a defeat then of course the patterns of play are likely to be different. Compare a good win to another good win and they are likely to be more similar. Rocket science it ain’t. You really are getting out of your depth now I am making you work hard for your rubbish, usually you present it in your usual “feeling” capacity, but now that nonsense has to be backed up... which you don’t seem very good at, to put it mildly. Sorry squire, you are going to have to work a lot harder for you seal claps while I’m around.

Yes, apart from the fact it was backed up and blew this clown out of the water. Work harder hahahaha You get the feeling if this one was caught over a dead body with a smoking gun he'd argue blind he was innocent. Does anyone really believe we are a good passing side? Apart from those that don't watch us?

Backed up? Where? Patterns of play was the discussion, you compared patterns of play with successful passes and amount of passes. They do not correlate and are absolutely nothing to do with the discussion at hand. That's like me saying we would likely have a similar amount of possession in game x vs game y and you bringing up the amount of shots we had on target in a desperate attempt to bluster your way through. You are against a different animal here mate, you need to work a lot harder. Have another go.

Perfect example there. You can see that play between Woodman, Cabango, Bennett, Guehi, Grimes, Hourihane and Bidwell. That’s a heavy combination of passes between them. Only problem with that one looks like Lowe dropping back into midfield too deeply, but I guess there was a reason for that and was reacting to something Rotherham were doing. Where as in the defeat there is less patience and passing in our half of the field. Comfortable wins will often mean good patterns of play. [Post edited 20 Apr 2021 13:47]
