...why, oh why, are the Democrats doing every possible thing they can to stop the State legislature (who has responsibility for overseeing elections in Arizona) from completing a full forensic audit?

Arizona - Maricopa County Election Audit on 00:39 - May 17 with 1666 views
Dominion Voting Systems and Maricopa County officials are refusing to hand over passwords for election machines to auditors in Arizona.
Dominion said in a statement to news outlets on May 13 that it would comply with the audit, but Cyber Ninjas, the firm hired by the Arizona Senate to conduct it along with three other companies, is not accredited by the U.S. Election Assistance Commission.
“Releasing Dominion’s intellectual property to an unaccredited, biased, and plainly unreliable actor such as Cyber Ninjas would be reckless, causing irreparable damage to the commercial interests of the company and the election security interests of the country,” Dominion said. “No company should be compelled to participate in such an irresponsible act.”
Cyber Ninjas did not respond to a request for comment.
Maricopa County officials previously said that they did not have passwords to access administrative functions on Dominion Voting Systems machines that were used to scan ballots during the election, according to the Senate’s audit liaison, former Republican Secretary of State Ken Bennett.
“They’ve told us that they don’t have that second password, or that they’ve given us all the passwords they have,” Bennett told One America News at the site of the audit in Phoenix last week.
The county is also withholding routers from auditors, claiming security concerns.
Both routers or router images and access to election machines were part of the materials the state Senate subpoenaed late last year. A judge in February ruled that the subpoenas were valid and should be obeyed.
Arizona Senate President Karen Fann, a Republican, recently threatened to subpoena county officials if they didn’t stop their noncompliance with the subpoenas, but backed off the threat in a letter on May 12.
Instead, she asked Maricopa County Board of Supervisors Chairman Jack Sellers, also a Republican, to cooperate voluntarily by attending an upcoming meeting at the state Capitol to go over the audit issues.
Fann said auditors have found discrepancies in the ballot count, including one batch that was supposed to be 200 but only numbered 165. She also said the audit teams found an entire database directory from an election machine had been deleted, and that the main database for the election management system software was not located anywhere on the machine, suggesting that the main database for all data related to the 2020 election had been removed.
Sellers on Thursday indicated he would not attend the meeting and disputed the allegations.
Deleting files off the server “would be a crime–and it is not true,” he said.
“After reviewing the letter with County election and IT experts, I can say that the allegations are false and ill-informed. Moreover, the claim that our employees deleted election files and destroyed evidence is outrageous, completely baseless, and beneath the dignity of the Arizona Senate,” he added, calling for an immediate retraction of statements senators and their liaison team made on social media and to the press.
The Board of Supervisors, which held a closed-door emergency meeting on Friday, plans on holding a public meeting on Monday to address the matter.
Fann, an Arizona Senate Republican Caucus spokeswoman, and the liaison team did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Auditors, meanwhile, began packing up on late on May 13 because the audit will take a break due to scheduling conflicts.
The audit has been taking place at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum on the state fairgrounds in Phoenix. High school graduations are scheduled to take place at the building beginning May 15.
Hand counting stopped at 7 p.m. on May 13 and workers began collapsing tables and preparing to move ballots to another location.
About 500,000 of the nearly 2.1 million ballots cast in Maricopa County in the 2020 election have been counted in the audit, according to Bennett.
The Arizona Senate signed an extension to their original agreement that allows auditors to store materials in the Wesley Bolin Building, which is also on the state fairgrounds, from May 12 to May 23.
The approximately 19,000-square foot building has a large open floor plan and two large roll-up doors, according to the Arizona State Fair website.
“Due to temperatures during the summer months, this building is not recommended for use between May through September,” the site states.
Bennett told The Epoch Times in a previous interview that the materials will be secure and that the site at which they’ll be stored can be tracked online via 24-hour streaming, just like the audit itself.
“There’s no deadline for the audit,” Bennett said. “The goal is not speed; the goal is accuracy and completeness.”
The audit teams can resume occupancy of the coliseum on May 23 and use it until June 30, according to a copy of the extended agreement obtained by The Epoch Times.
The original scope of work document from Cyber Ninjas said reviewing voter registration and votes case would take approximately 20 days and that work would be conducted remotely. The vote counting phase would take about 20 more days, it said, while the electronic voting system phase would take some 35 days.
But all three of those phases could be carried out simultaneously, according to the firm. An additional week was said to be required after completing everything else to finalize reporting.
The audit started on April 23.

Arizona Senators Back Off Subpoena Threat Over Audit, Ask Maricopa Officials to Attend Meeting on ‘Serious Issues’
Arizona’s state Senate backed away from a threat to subpoena Maricopa County officials, instead requesting they voluntarily appear at a meeting on May 18 to answer questions about “serious issues” that have been uncovered by a 2020 election audit.
On May 12, Arizona Senate President Karen Fann, a Republican, asked Maricopa County Board of Supervisors Chairman Jack Sellers, also a Republican, to cooperate with the state Senate to resolve the issues in question, including the county’s noncompliance with earlier subpoenas.
The county is refusing to supply routers–or even images of routers–used in connection with last year’s election, claiming that doing so would pose a security risk. A state Senate lawyer said last week that the body would issue fresh subpoenas unless the requested materials were produced, but Fann instead opted to write a letter to Sellers seeking to convince him to cooperate voluntarily.
Fann is proposing that CyFIR, one of four firms hired to carry out the audit in Maricopa County, review virtual images of the relevant routers in county facilities with representatives from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office present.
“Such an arrangement would permit Maricopa County to retain custody and monitor the review of router data, while ensuring that the Senate may access the information it requires–and to which it is constitutionally entitled–to successfully complete its audit. The Senate has no interest in viewing or taking possession of any information that is unrelated to the administration of the 2020 general election,” she wrote in the letter.
Fann also expressed concern that the county either doesn’t have or won’t provide passwords to access administrative functions on vote tabulation machines. She told Sellers that “it strains credulity to posit that the County has no contractual right to obtain (i.e., control of) password information from Dominion.”
Dominion has not returned requests for comment.
Auditors, the top senator continued, have “become aware of apparent omissions, inconsistencies, and anomalies relating to Maricopa County’s handling, organization, and storage of ballots.” That includes a lack of chain-of custody documentation for the ballots; bags in which the ballots were stored not being sealed; and a disparity between the actual number of ballots in a batch and the total listed on a pink report slip accompanying the batch, which the county provided.
In one case, the discrepancy was 35 votes. Batches are supposed to contain 200 ballots.
Additionally, the audit teams found an entire database directory deleted from an election machine, even though the details appear to have been covered by the subpoena. Combined with not finding the main database for the election management software, “this suggests that the main database for all election related data for the November 2020 General Election has been removed,” Fann said.
She told Sellers that she hopes the issues can be resolved without additional subpoenas, and invited him and any other county officers or employees who know about the outlined matters to attend a meeting at the Arizona Capitol on May 18. The hearing will be live-streamed.
“I’m looking forward to the County coming to the AZ Capitol to answer these important questions related to the audit,” state Sen. Warren Petersen, a Republican, said in a statement.
A Maricopa County spokesperson told The Epoch Times via email: “We’ve seen the tweets and the letter. Much of the letter is a misunderstanding of election operations.”
The spokesperson said the county board, recorder, and counsel were meeting later on May 13 to discuss the next steps.
Sellers and a Sellers aide didn’t respond to inquiries.
Maricopa County officials previously fought against subpoenas from the state Senate, claiming they were too broad. A county judge ruled in February that the subpoenas, which were issued in late 2020, were valid and should be obeyed.
Among the materials subpoenaed were machines, routers, and access to technology used in the election.
The county has said its own machine forensic audit, carried out by Pro V&V and SLI Compliance in February, uncovered no issues. A hand count on Nov. 4, which reviewed 2 percent of ballots cast on Election Day and 1 percent cast early, yielded a 100-percent match to the results produced by the tabulation equipment.
“The County’s two independent audits have already shown there was no foul play in the 2020 General Election,” Sellers, the board chairman, said in a statement last week.
The current audit is focused on machines and all of the nearly 2.1 million ballots cast in Arizona’s largest county in the election.
Democrats tried stopping the audit, alleging security and privacy issues but were rejected by a judge. Democrats eventually reached a settlement with the state Senate. Arizona Secretary of State (SoS) Katie Hobbs, a Democrat, has accused the Senate and its contractors of violating the agreement. The Senate has denied that claim.
“This is really dangerous to our democracy. This is a group of people who are clearly partisan. It is headed by a company that has no auditing or election experience and they’re making up the rules as they go along,” Hobbs said on “The Daily Show” on May 12.
Hobbs announced earlier in the day that observers from her office found a WiFi router connected to the audit servers, adding, “There’s no way to ensure that ballot images, vote counts, and perhaps voter data weren’t connected to external networks or the Internet.”
But the team led by one of her predecessors, Ken Bennett, a Republican who is the state Senate’s liaison for the audit, said no wireless connection was ever enabled.
“This was explicitly explained to the SoS observers on site,” the team said. “We are open to providing all passwords and access needed for a forensic investigation of the router if requested.”

Maybe the Cyber Ninjas can sort it out.
If not, they can try the Power Rangers next.
Feeling brave enough to address the question of WHY those data files have been deleted for this election and this election only? Surely there must be some kind of a rational explanation

It'll come out I'm sure. At this stage it's this lot I don't trust:
...but you, independently, cannot think of a viable explanation for why all the previous election data was saved but this, controversial, disputed election had to be deleted no?
Strange that mate.

Brilliant, you actually trust the ones under the microscope for Election fraud and don't trust the ones doing the investigation.
I said it’ll come out in the wash.
I don’t know all the answers - don’t pretend to. My point in this is not that I have blind faith in Maricopa officials, it’s more I’d prefer the investigation done by a reputable source.
The Cyber Ninjas aren’t. You said yourself they’re partisan.

The problem is there are no trust worthy independent auditors, especially ones that cannot be "got at".

Yet another judge blocks another Forensic Audit. This time for Antrim county. Because a so called audit, which was just a recount has already been carried out.

The latest election in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania reported issues with the voting equipment at polling places on Tuesday. It was noticed by the voters that regardless of which party or candidate was chosen the Dominion voting machine put it on screen as a Democrat vote. This appeared to be a very serious Coding problem.
Diminion were contacted over this and responded with "All Ballots Will Be Correctly Counted".

The chap who designed the methodology for this has spent a significant amount of time searching for the Ark of the Covenant.
Sounds like a stand up guy who definitely should be running something as important as this.
Now the cyber ninjas have taken the equipment to a secret place out of state to check for bamboo fibres etc. then used the fun fair as bases for their work I’m sure their work is without fault and the figures you’ve presented are exactly correct.

There are multiple companies involved, not just 'Cyber Ninjas'.
If the Audit has cooked up the evidence, prove it.
Simple really isn't it?
Answer me this Gwyn. Why is it ok with the Biden administration for state employees to go door to door to quiz people on whether they have had a Covid vaccine but Biden's state of department has threatened the Arizona auditors with arrest if they go door to door to ask people if they are the person registered to vote at this address? and did they vote (via mail in ballot) in the 2020 election?
Apparently, getting to the truth, would be "intimidating voters".
This is bull Gwyn, don't piss down my neck and tell me it's raining

Perhaps if you had bothered your backside and watched the presentation to the Arizona Senate you would not be making stupid snide remarks. What am I saying, it is you, you don't do anything sensible like that you prefer to read the Guardian etc.
