| Woodman on 10:38 - May 26 by Boundy | Regarding Joe, have we missed him ? it would have been nice to keep him but players of his ilk and value will always move on and if he had stayed who would have missed out playing this season , Bennett & Ben the more likely of the two. Bennett ok due to his age but Ben needs to be playing and developing . |
If we had not sold Rodon we would not have signed Bennett as a replacement.

By actually watching Woodman play, you can gain a far better appreciation for the type of goalkeeper his is than by creating formulae for Excel spreadsheets.

And you've watched every other keeper at this level the same amount, I assume.

When Woodie has allowed balls to be literally stroked past him,it IS what you see. When he hoofs ball after ball out of play,it IT what you see. Football is played on grass not a computer.

This goes against him big time. He is prone to the odd brain fart and his distribution is erratic at best. The brain farts worry me more as they put us in immediate danger. Conceding a throw in near half way from a clearance that would have been 50/50 anyway looks terrible, but isn’t the end of the world. He can have a good game, screw one clearance up and it’s what everyone remembers. Much like Routledge having great games but everyone remembering the easy chance he missed.

I think you right , regardless at any level any footballer worth their salt will want to play regular competitive games .Time is something money can't buy

Why would I need to do that to decide on Woodman's abilities?

| Woodman on 09:02 - May 26 by Thornburyswan | All the transfer stuff on pause for me as by 5ish on Saturday there will be either be further financial tightening or sensible relaxation of the purse strings. If we don’t go up we might recoup some decent compensation on Cooper & his back room team otherwise I guess it’s at least one decent sale - Roberts, Grimes or Cabango I presume - plus release of all current loanees, Routs & Ayew to remain financially stable. |
Roberts is only an attractive option for teams who exclusively play with wing backs. Cabango is an average second tier centre back and I can't see anyone paying big money for him in The Championship. Grimes is the most likely to receive an offer from a larger club.
