So the government have chucked this out there to see what the response is.
They know it's not lawful so it's hard to see this one coming to fruition.
I'm sure there are plenty on here who are all for it no matter what how dangerous a path it takes us, just to get one over the vaccine hesitant, anti vax etc

Which goes back to my point if the old feckers have had it,as you said you can't catch it so what's the problem...major contradiction for nothing more than a bad flu which also kills thousands but never been an outcry for vaccinations for that..over the top and something not right with all this

The vaccine won't work in everyone. The AstraZeneca vaccine seems to be work in about 60% of elderly people.

If a care home has 50 residents the vaccine may not work for 20 of them If the staff are vaccinated and less likely to pass it on those 20 are less likely to be exposed to the virus.

People who work on building sites need a CSCS card. People who work in Security need an SIA card. People who work with the elderly need to be vaccinated against diseases that potentially kill their charges.

Either they do that or they find alternative employment. Quite simple really.

CSCS card SIA card does not require mandatory gene therapy.

Again, imagine we had a vaccine to stop them doing it? It’s the same point.

People who have put their loved ones into the care of others (often at huge financial expense) should expect them to be safe.
Whereas I can see difficulties with existing staff I can see no difficulty with new staff ... No jab - no new job ...
When I joined RAF many many yrs ago we were like pincushions during basic training, vaccinated against everything known to man

If you have no symptons (not much virus in the airways) then you cannot spread it. Asymptomatic transmission is not a driver of any virus in history

And having supplied into that industry I can absolutely guarantee you that that industry would quickly be in crisis with major staffing issues. Easiest thing in the world to be flippant and say "sack unvaxxed carers". Try finding replacements for £8/hr......

I suppose some willl moan "it's the D.Mail". Nevertheless it's a sensible article based on truth. Govt have consistently lied and overstated the danger of Co vid in order to justify lockdowns. Which we know will lead to horrendous increases in excess deaths from cancer, heart attacks, strokes etc. Not to mention mental health issues/domestic violence/child abuse etc.
It should be obvious to anyone that the insane reaction to any co vid death by comparison with every other cause is fishy. I heard a stat today that 25 people have died in Bristol harbourside in the last 18mths. Average age is in the 20s. See much coverage about this? Nope, thought not.....

Makes you wonder why they are in a "caring" industry if they care so little about endangering the health of the residents who are paying for the care.

I wonder if they wash their hands after going to the toilet to avoid spreading infection or due the consider the compulsory use of soap an infringement of their human rights.

Just because someone doesn't want to risk their own health by taking an experimental jab, doesn't mean they are not caring or passionate about caring for people.
It doesn't mean they have bad hygiene.
What a braindead assumption to make.

There is a world of difference between the reaction of the media, both exaggerating and downplaying the virus and the ugly truth of Covid.

The stats don't lie. They justify lockdowns in their own right.

Mental health issues have been exacerbated by lockdown, I've no doubt about that. But excess deaths from heart attacks, Cancer and strokes have increased because of the virus not lockdown. Without lockdown those numbers would be even higher because every single hospital bed in the UK would have a covid patient in it within weeks of an uncontrolled outbreak. There would be no room for anyone else. Literally.

I hate every minute of these restrictions but they were absolutely essential, they wouldn't have been imposed otherwise.

So if lockdowns work, why are we still having them? Truth is they don't.
The deaths from undiagnosed Cancer heart problems etc as a result of lockdown will dwarf those of Covid over the coming years, Thats not even taking into consideration other health issues like mental health and suicide.

Nothing to do with hospital beds (How many unused emergency hospitals were there set up) It's more to do with understaffing and cuts within the NHS.

We're not still having them.

They worked to get infection down whilst they rolled out the vaccine. The vaccine is going to take over limiting the impacts of the virus rather than lockdown.

There are no undiagnosed cancers or other health conditions because of lockdown, that is a myth. There are likely to be plenty because of Covid. Lockdown was the only way to control the spread of the virus.

I do understand the mental health issues, it's been tough, but there was no other option.

You can't have a hospital bed if there are no staff to care for the person in that bed.

There's so much wrong with your answer that I barely know where to begin. Even Hancock has said undiagnosed serious health conditions will have increased because of the effects of lockdown. No one even seriously doubts this. Except for you, it seems.

Lockdown has never been shown to work. A cursory glance at the graphs shows cases peaking before Lockdown 1 or 2 started. And some countries didn't even bother with lockdowns and have certainly not fared worse overall.

Mandatory Vaccinations for care workers on 18:11 - Jun 18 with 676 viewsA_Fans_Dad

You have so called government experts calling for more lockdowns, not less and we are in the situation where COVID deaths are currently 1% of causes of mortality.
24th on the list.

By the way, this is for WHL, the lock down does not affect me at all, I do not frequent pubs, clubs, restaurants or go away on holiday.
I shop locally once per week and Tesco once per month and that is it.
So do not accuse me of wanting them to end for my own selfish reasons.

A hint social distancing is not a lockdown, closing the borders is not a lockdown, isolating ill people is not a lockdown.
But do lockdowns work any better than other methods that are far less damaging?
Can you show that they do?
Because others have shown that they don't.

We're trying social distancing now in this country and what is happening? Our borders are more restricted and what is happening? We are isolating the symptomatic people and what is happening?

Cases are rising.

We've tried lockdown and what happens?

Cases drop like a stone and stay at an incredibly low level.

Sweden tried not having a lockdown and the King apologised to his subjects for not doing so.

If it wasn't for vaccines we'd be back to the situation we were in in November.

I'd love to see something, anything that shows something that reduces infection more than a strict lockdown. I don't have to show you, you just need to look out of your window, go to a shop or drive anywhere today and compare what you see to the same situation in January this year or April last year.

Some people will never accept that total lockdowns stop the spread of the virus.
Some people will never accept getting fully vaccinated reduces your chances of getting the virus by 90% .
Some people will never accept that even if you are fully vaccinated and catch the virus your chances of getting hospitalised and dieing are vastly reduced.

The hard part will be getting the hard core of anti vaxers vaccinated. Hopefully we will soon be up to 90% of adults vaccinated. Then we must try to convince the 10% of the population, who are idiots to get vaccinated.

The problem with lockdowns is that they were the wrong type.

Covid is known to spread significantly when you've got people indoors. It's known to spread at an almost negligible level when you're outdoors, so what do Governments do? Stop people going outdoors. Wales especially got this wrong.

By all means restrict indoor or mass gathering. Sensible, and backed by evidence. Telling people that they can't drive to a beach for a walk and meet some friends whilst they were there? Utterly pointless.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

They should try paying more than £8 p/h then.

I'm not unaware of the recruitment issues within the industry, but to be honest a lot of them are self inflicted. Given a choice, for example, between pulling pints for NMW or changing adult nappies for the same salary (and maybe having to cover a chunk of your petrol costs as well) then most will choose the bar.

It is not an experimental vaccine. It is probably the most throughly researched, tested, set of vaccines in history. What brain dead idiots still refuse it to save their lives.
