| Mask or no mask tonight on 20:12 - Aug 16 by ItchySphincter | Go on then, you’ve had all day to think about it ……. Where’s this post where I told you to wear a mask, or told you I’d be wearing a mask? |
Dont wear one here and you will ‘ meet the police’ And I’m happy with that.

Fair enough I reckon, if them’s the rules. I’ve been in three different countries over the last ten weeks and in the last one you had to wear one everywhere, all the time, I just got used to it. Personally I’m not bothered if others do or don’t but I do find it funny that non wearers get irate about others wearing them.

I’d be happy with that too. If the law says you have to wear one so be it, the position is crystal clear and people have no excuse for not wearing one. Over here it’s been a joke
| Mask or no mask tonight on 22:53 - Aug 16 with 731 views | jack247 | To be fair, hardly anyone was wearing one. I’d guess less than 5%. It’s thanks to 73_73 and everyone else that got double jabbed that we are able to watch live football at all, let alone without masks. | | | |

I don’t see many people starting threads about getting double jabbed. It’s the norm. People only talk about it when others gloat about not being jabbed. Getting vaccinated is hardly an achievement. It’s what most people did.

If people weren’t starting threads gloating about not being vaccinated or not wearing masks, I very much doubt anyone would. If you think this is boring, I don’t disagree, but you’re barking up the wrong tree.

Not at all. My view is people have the right to accept or decline vaccination. Sitting beneath that is the reality that if we all accepted it, the UK would get back to normal sooner rather than later. If none of us accepted it, we’d all be in a form of lockdown and we certainly wouldn’t be watching the Swans in the flesh. People who have decided to decline it (as opposed to being medically unable) are slowly getting their freedom back courtesy of people who haven’t. Their right, but if they want to show off about it, people have a right to air their views. I agree it can get tedious and I’ll guarantee you I’ll never start a thread about Covid protocols.

I have declined it, but I'll be honest with you, I'm keeping a very close eye on what happens over the next few months, something inside me said don't take it. But here I am, pubs open masks not required, been asked to go out, but I am hesitant.. In fact, I have not got a clue what to do.

Go with your gut feeling mate and do what you want. Whether that be getting the jab or not. Nobody can you that you've done the wrong thing whatever you choose to do.

You will get covid over the next few months, even if you completely isolated. There's a decent chance you'd get very ill, there's a small chance you'd get severely ill and there's a very small chance that you would die. There's a decent chance you could suffer the effects for months. There's also a chance you could pass it on to someone that something similar could happen to. If you got vaccinated you may get very mild side effects, there's a small chance they'd be worse. The risks are similar to everyday life risks no more no less. I'm sure it's pretty clear from here the anti-vaxxers post complete rubbish. Every post that isn't a wind up is debunked. Covid is not a conspiracy. I'm living life as normal, as are my parents. Pubs, restaurants, gigs and holidays. I'm expecting an appointment for a booster over the next few weeks. I can't wait. To me there is one choice. Get vaccinated.

Odd. Cardiff Airport was literally shut down, one Scandanavian checking in in front of me and it still took me 35 mins to get to the desk. Two PCR tests to fly out and I was one of three people on a KLM City Hopper. Amsterdam was completely different, more or less fully open but distancing and masked required. That’s where the first hangover from Brexit was noticeable - as I was transiting I had to clear immigration again there and the questioning was long and arduous, I had to produce all my papers for proof of travel including embassy letters and work contracts, they even stamped my passport. Full flight from there in to Budapest, clearing immigration there was also vey slow and on my second day there I had to visit immigration again as they apparently weren’t sure about things, all papers and covid certs checked again. I took the same route back after about four weeks and nearly missed my connection in Amsterdam - all UK passports were required to to attend gate 6 for checks before before being given a departure gate - I was told to join a queue, which I did, it with only 40 mins in hand I had to tell someone I was going to miss my flight so they put me in a shorter queue for passport and document checks before giving me gate, with minutes to spare. Immigration in Cardiff took another 30 or so minutes due to question and passenger locator form checks - it worth remembering if you’re travelling to Wales that the rules will be different to England. I had to self-isolate for the whole time I was home before travelling again. The next flight in to Japan was okay other than I had three fight cancelled as I was initially supposed to fly from Cardiff or Bristol but ended up going from Heathrow T5, better because I got a direct flight but worse because I had to drive back from there on return. Four hour check in for that one was requested for all checks but flight was good with an empty seat between each person. Almost didn’t clear immigration on landing and was taken into one of those little side rooms and left there for an hour whilst they sorted things out but basically an American company had prepared my certificates and published everything in EDT instead of Japanese time so they though I was outside the permitted travel time window, plus they couldn’t work out what my country of origin was as I had been in different countries within 10 days of departure. Got through in the end after being handed loads of bit of paper and completing a saliva PCR. Four hours from landing to exiting airport. The return was similar, tested most days I was out there and able to download my own certs. Arrival at Heathrow was weird, expected it to take hours. It it was literally a self scan passport check and straight to baggage, no checks whatsoever. I was in the car within an hour of landing.

Interesting read, thanks for posting. I suspect the lack of rigour around heck’s at Heathrow is a contributory factor as to why we were in such a mess.
