Sorry mate, but I’ll stick to the profs view on flu jabs,,which as he stated the other day are consistently changing and advancing.

Well mate your belief is misplaced, as you obviously do not know the history of the flu vaccines.
The flu vaccines have been around decades, so if they are "consistently changing and advancing" you would think that they would be getting better and better wouldn't you?

Well you would be very wrong, because for the 2017/18 flu season the Vaccines were a disaster, I am not saying this the UK government is saying it.
You can find the data here
https://www.gov.uk/government/

I quote "The data show that overall, flu vaccine was 15% effective in all age groups. "
I suggest you read the text under that data, where they give the reasons why.

Compare that to 2010/2011 data here
https://www.who.int/immunizati

The chart on page 12 shows Vaccine Effectiveness (VE) was at a minimum of 50% for the 2010/11 flu season.

Nothing like actual data compared to opinion is there?

ps Perhaps that is not what prof actually said?

For the people who want them that's fine! I've nothing against that at all. You don't get posts from people moaning none of the swans players have chosen to receive their flu vaccine, like we've had with covid this week

When was the last time we had 4 first team squad players unavailable because they had flu?

Maybe that’s why we think they should grow up and get vaccinated.

Hopefully I can clear it up for you mate

You might get covid over the next few months, however if you completely isolated it would be highly unlikely you'll get it. If you get vaccinated you may also get covid in the next few months

If you did get it, there's a decent chance you'd have no symptoms at all and get over it pretty quickly. There's a miniscule chance you'd get severely ill and there's less than a 0.01% that you would die.

There's also a chance you could pass it on to someone that something similar could happen to, but then this is also the case if you're vaccinated

If you got vaccinated please be aware that there have been over a million adverse reactions to the injection. Some have sadly died. Don't forget, no-one knows the long term effects of the vaccine.

I know a lot on here have been hoodwinked by the barrage of propaganda, PR and advertising campaigns from the government. That's understandable. It's been non-stop. But do your own research and I'm sure you'll make the correct decision.

I'm living life as normal. Pubs, restaurants, gigs, sporting events and holidays.

There's talk of getting a third injection over the next few months! Then another? A lifetime of injections for a mild illness.

To me there is one choice. But each person is entitled to make their own choice without coercion.

No coercion but happy to spread and repeat dangerous misinformation about adverse reactions.

There we go.

Love to know what research you’ve done outside conspiracies are us.com

i spent an hour or two, in the early hours deliberating whether to have it or not, in the end it was like ah fck it, have it ,so then I said to a family member, think I'll go for it, they were why? It just put me off, and then go on twitter, and I'm back to square one.

I'm so indecisive, especially with this. I don't know why something tells me, don't? It's weird.

Because you know once you decide to go through with it it's irreversible. If in 3 years time they begin to discover some serious long term effects from having this in your body, there'll be no going back

Don't know but it must have happened in the past. It's not something that sticks in the memory - similarly this incident will soon be forgotten

Are they actually ill?
Do they have symptoms?
Or are they just testing positive like millions of others have.
Perhaps you can find out and let us know.

That's a great point. Note there's zero concern from any fan regarding their health. It's very odd given they're unvaccinated and have this so called deadly disease

The flu jab is at most 40% effective and gives the elderly very little protection. The flu jabs are not boosters, they are supposed to be for a specific variant, which is an educated guess at best

As I haven’t had flu for six years I’m a fan.

Bit of a tangent there! I've not seen anything on these boards showing a negative attitude to the elderly whatsoever

In that case you must be an ingenue.
With repect, there is plenty of ageist crap around.

Finally, mild symptoms. You make a massive and inaccurate assumption. I am well involved with medical matters right now and many have died well under the age of 60.

It is were a risk,I would not have had it,nor would my wife who ha her own health issues.

We are talking about a farking innoculation.

If it were compulsory to get into an Ibizan club then all British kids would have one

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not

Well luckily we don't live in totalitarian North Korea, so the 'British kids' and the rest of us have freedom of choice

Sorry, you are wrong.
Normally the flu vaccine is about 60% effective and only 20Million had it, nowhere near Herd Immunity.
It is designed to protect the vulnerable, not everybody else.
In 2017/18 it was 15% effective, so why didn't he get it that flu season?

Do you know what 15% effective means when only 1/3 of the nations is vaccinated?
The reduction in spread is miniscule.

Yes it reduced the spread of the flue for 3 million people, but not for the other 63 Million.

Yes of course it is an anomaly, they got it almost completely wrong.
Do you consider under 50% effectiveness to be a good outcome compared to the over 50% prior to 2016?
