As has been stated in the last 24 hours that’s no time at all to prepare and plan for a new football season. 0

| We have a real gem on our hands in Russell Martin : Set pieces analysed on 12:40 - Aug 18 by Chief | And by the way all I've said is that it's a misleading title. Which it clearly is. It definitely suggests there was something good about our set pieces. Which there absolutely clearly wasn't at either end. |
No, I think you misquoted stuff too. However, it was ‘ set pieces analysed’ And in response to Russell Martin’s very clear admission there were problems with “Stoke’s set pieces” and his teams ability to manage them we thought an insight as to what he was referring to with actual plays would assist people. The majority have enjoyed it, I think picking away at headlines, which in no way are encouraging visits has a shelf life. Moving on. Russell Martin is a real gem, and we did analyse set plays, but of course not his attacking plays. Just his admission of frailties defensively and how those frailties were exposed. We were responding to him. The fact he can talk so openly about his vulnerability so close to the game ending, for me makes him a real gem. The fact he can then say where he saw vulnerability and admit it tells me anyway we are continuing positively. After two weeks remember.

I can't have misquoted anything because I haven't quoted anything?

He's said he's taking it step by step but also that fitness is an issue, the players aren't fit enough to play his style. Who do we blame for that? It can't be Martin, not yet. He's said he's used square pegs in round holes to help judge what he's got but also because he had limited choices. I'm sure as we move forward the team will take shape, well hopeful more than sure but better at this stage to be hopeful (in my opinion) than to start shouting it's a failure already as some are doing. It's been less than 3 weeks and some people are acting like we're already relegated. We've already seen U23's blooded with Cooper looking like becoming a regular, we've seen different teams as he searches for the right combo's. Piroe looks like he could be our 9. Downes looks useful and so does Laird so for the time being I choose to try and stay positive for the future

What about the other parody or appropriate titles I've written? Maybe I shouldn't have put speech marks.

But that doesn't mean I can't criticise his decisions - especially when they are clearly justified. Struggling for positivity myself. Admire those that arent though in a way. Chat includes criticism and praise though. Criticism where it's due, praise where it's worthy. Our set pieces last night were due criticism. Piroe's goal was praiseworthy though. Piroe needs to start. I'd like to see Joseph too. Lowe is a wide player, he needs to be used in what was his best position before he joined us. 3-4-3 might be a better idea with the players we have. Lowe-Piroe-Joseph up front? Just a thought!

Yea but it is a chat based on the team's performance. Which currently is abject. But it isn't all the manager's fault.

Keith gave his defensive set up a right hammering. However, supplied valued reasons for supporting him, it seems a few here don't get it. I disagree with what he says but I haven't spent the day justifying it just for arguments sake. Not you BTW.

If I change my mind and want to do something I will let you know. I'm toeing a line a bit even with my unofficial contributions, sometimes I'm told things in confidence for my official role with SI/FM. Might have my number blocked by a few people if I start moonlighting as a journalist. |
