She is right though, isn’t she ?

She (if we are allowed to call her that as Starmer says men have cervixes as well) accuses the Conservatives of misogyny despite the fact that they gave women universal and equal suffrage to men.
The Conservatives have also had two women leaders, labour meanwhile have yet to have any.

No, but sometimes you have to speak tbe truth to power.

Starmer needs to destroy Johnson on his terrible record, not look from the sidelines looking like a limp lettice.

As my dear old Gran would have said, two wrongs don't make a right. By descending to his level she becomes as bad as him.

This is our problem, all our politicians are equally vile. We have gobshits, cheats and liars, some are/were just crooked.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

I see your beloved Labour Party is split down the middle, the hard left nasty party led by Rayner and the left of centre moderates led by Starmer. The people of the UK will never vote in enough numbers to elect a hard left party.

Well Emily Thornberry, said she had been on the pop, no surprise there, the woman is a disgrace.

Labour have no chance with her on the front bench.

You’ll have to explain why that’s relevant to what’s been said.

Another Corbynite resigns from the shadow cabinet. Andy McDonald has said he can't work with Starmer.

John McDonnell the former shadow chancellor says the Labour Party conference is falling apart.

Does that mean Starmer is doing something right in trying to limit the influence of what would have been Corbyn’s allies?

The way some of these Momentum types go on it’s as though they are deep undercover Tory infiltrators intention doing everything they can to sabotage and prevent Labour getting back in power.

I must be lucky then because I haven't had any problems with our usual food shop. Hang on though, there is plenty of petrol just not enough drivers, it's the same with food, plenty of it at the hubs just not enough drivers, a problem throughout Europe.

Imagine how big the driver shortage in Europe would be if we'd stayed in the EU and had tens of thousands of EU drivers coming here?

PS, isn't it the voters who are responsible for brexit? It was Tories Cameron and Osborne who tried to convince us to vote remain, lots of Labour voters chose leave too. Corbyn sat on the fence though.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

What supermarket are you shopping in that has empty shelves in Swansea?

And as you well know there is no petrol shortage, the current situation has been caused by greedy selfish drivers, and will settle in the next couple of days when they have had their fill.

Barbara Castle would have destroyed both Emily and Ange as she has an intellect on other planet in comparison.A truly formidable woman in a mans world of politics and she was a great MP for Blackburn for many years.

She could and did speak with conviction ,passion with visceral effect and do so by remaining a woman of some authenticity not the- bad girlie image of a teen mum made good- or the smug snarling of Emily,no working class girl herself.

To even mention Castle in the same sentence is nuts.

Also Shirley Williams. A great shame she felt it necessary to leave the Labour Party.

Yes and also a very good MP for Crosby -over the water from here.
She came from a well to do academic family but I believed had genuine concern for the lives of what are called now -disgracefully- "ordinary" people, the single most objectionable label anyone can be given.
Politicians ,however ,to me,are all exceptional and in all the wrong ways.

Yep.

Glorious writing.

The recent(ish) remake of the film for the 100th anniversary of WW1 was wonderful as well.

Vera Brittain was an incredibly interesting woman. A real trailblazer. Her ashes were scattered (by Shirley Williams) in Italy, on the grave of her brother, who died in 1918 and was remembered so beautifully in the book.

Her mother (Williams’ grandmother) was from Aberystwyth.

Thanks.
I knew she has some Welsh roots.
Sadly, even though well retired,I dont have the concentration and application to read the many books I have on WW1 on other matters. My father always told me I would suffer if I didnt knuckle down more. I've done ok though.LOL

Right now,the biggest waste of time I have is sourcing a Piano that I want. It is really not that simple.
