I did because the point very quickly came where I wondered would there be any petrol left soon and how do we get my wife to work next week?
It was the same with the toilet roll fiasco, we were reduced to buying it when we saw it, even when we had enough for a few days or a week. When you've seen a couple with 2 trolleys, one full up with toilet roll, it forces you into a decision.
The news creates the problem and the problem grows very quickly into a panic. |
I guarantee that anyone who calls the masses ‘sheep’ or ‘sheeple’ panic bought (or bought more than they usually would have done) toilet paper. The same thing with fuel (if they own a car or have to drive to a job). They’ll be keeping an eye out for a quiet petrol station ‘just in case’.
I find this panic buying bloody stupid but unfortunately we’re all forced into it. The media is 100% to blame. Telling everyone on the news that there is no need to panic buy is only going to do one thing. Then interviewing someone who works at a petrol station this morning, saying that their supply could be empty in a couple of days...what do people expect is going to happen? |  |

I find that strange, saying they'll put out stock now because there may not be any by Christmas. If they are going to run out before Christmas, don't they want to keep it back FOR Christmas?

There were still small queues at our local station yesterday, it was busier than normal.. This sheeple though, has a full tank! I suppose I could order a few Jerry cans off Amamzon and stock up, just in case  | |
