A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

The strategy of the club is ambitious. It i to become the dominant possession team of the championship. The squad particularly in defence is not what Martin would ideally want in that respect I would expect t see good results mixed with the odd bad thrashing like today until martin can get the most suted players his style demands into the team.
He can do this either by bringing on young prospects Cabango and Cooper (Evans perhaps) or import a European prospect of quality as defence leader that Ashley Williams was. The signing of Rhys Williams suggests Martin was already aware of the squad defensive shortcomings. Manning Bennett and Naugton have been over run a few times away from home. There is an option of an experienced European stopper to come in to control tempo. Liverpool and Chelsea brought in experienced stoppers last season.

Being dominant in possession and being dominant in the game are two different things.
I’m pretty sure an ambition to have the highest possession % in the league isn’t classed as an ambitious one. Cardiff could probably do it if they chose to play that way, they would get battered of course, but it’s not difficult to get 65%+ of possession if that is your sole aim.
I’d like to think the aim is to be successful, not to have the highest stat in an area that doesn’t necessarily affect wins or performance directly.
The way Martin goes about it guarantees we will have higher % stats, but that should be the byproduct, not the aim. Which I’m sure it is.
Today is a perfect example for those that think possession = dominance.

Let's just hope he isn't off to Norwich.
I think he is settled has the support he needs from the Owners and DoF and is happy in Swansea. I do not think he would go even if there was an offer on the table. He has mentioned several time his wish to stay for years ahead,

No one believes having more possession than the opposition guarantees victory these days. The plan is ambitious because it is technically quite difficult. It goes without saying the ambition extends to winning matches and being close to the top of the table.
Having Hamer, Bennett and Naughton and probably Manning as well in the back three looks like stop gap measures to me in the absence of Williams performing to the required standard and Cabango and Cooper generally not featuring. The future for Cabango is not great unless he can re invent himself as the new Ashley Williams. Would it not be more sustainable playing Cabango over Bennett. I very much doubt any of the current back 4 will be place next season. So why invest so much time in developing them?.
Benda, Latibaudiere, Cabango, Williams would surely improve on the job week by week. If not, it seems to me a good idea to partner with MK Dons or another similarly minded team if they still play a version of Martin ball. Swansea could loan them Benda, Cooper or Cabango to develop in a less demanding league to get them up to speed. They are quality players.
Swansea's methods worked fine away against the team 4 th in the table for 90 mins. However against the team 1st they could only dominate for 20 mins. Work in progress. Using the stop gap back four is wasting valuable development time.
Are Hamer, Bennett, Naughton long terms solutions? Will Latibeaudiere Brandon Coper and Cabango ever fit the template? Martin seems to have already decided the fate of Dhanda and Fulton.

If he is offered enough money and a better deal of course he will leave, stop being so naive.

Firstly he is under contract and happy. Secondly the offering club must ask for permission to speak to him. Swansea can decline. He may have made promises to do a minimum time period and wish to honour his word. As discussed there is a chunky buy out clause.
He is only in his early thirties, His objective should be to prove himself not hop from one unfinished project to another. Potter stayed for 6 seasons close to the ice cap and needed persuasion to come to Swansea only when he thought the time was right. Potter laughed off links to Celtic mid season.
Martinez stayed 4 seasons at Wigan turning down Aston Villa. Why? They were a much bigger club and paid a lot more money. Was he naive? No doubt people will have tapped up Dyche. He is still at Burnley.

He's under contract, you're guessing about his happiness though. Yes they need permission to speak to him, but if we were to refuse Norwich how do you think Martin would take that? The promises bit is guesswork. Buy out probably not that chunky for a premier league club looking for a long term appointment.
Not sure what relevance Potter is to this, he stayed in Sweden because he was taking them up through the leagues. If he'd had viable championship level offers prior to us, I'm pretty sure he'd have gone. And the Celtic link was just that. No offer.
I dunno, Martinez was very lucky to get the Everton job and also extremely lucky to get the Belgium job. His performances didn't warrant those appointments, and now he's flattering to deceive during Belgium's golden generation. I doubt Dyche has had many concrete offers from decent stable clubs. Just not fashionable enough. Maybe a palace at best.

Being under contract means absolutely nothing these days. When Martin wants to leave, he will leave. It will then be up to us to work out the best deal for the club, but having a manager wanting away is not the type of person you want leading the club and a deal will be forced.
But a long way off that yet, if he wants to go any higher then we have to start performing consistently. Let’s do that first before worrying or speculating about him staying/leaving.

Exactly. Robert gave us the great city, club, people mantra as did Brenda ,now we are getting it from Russ.
However, all those corner managers had achievements to show for their efforts. Russy has not.
I am fearful again many are going to be shattered when he moves on. Then ,guess what, it all begins the same and we are again told to put our faith in the manager.

Love the Club and nothing else
When Potter arrived he insisted on his own recruitment team with the intention of staying for the long term, He had an understanding with the Chairman. Unfortunately the chairman left meaning he felt he was not letting anyone down when he upped sticks. He was decent enough to apologise to the Swansea fans for his poor behaviour.
His recruitment team signings actually cost Swansea a promotion play off place. Dickie Toney and a whole host of talents were available cheaply but Swansea ended up with Mckay Asoro John and Celina.

So even though a premier league club came in for him, the only reason Potter left was because there had been a change of chairman?
How can you say it costs us a place? How can you be so sure the alternative players we'd have signed would have been good enough to reach the play offs?

More fantasy.
This is a forum. I give my opinions. Just accept them and agree or disagree. Had the £7m he was given been better spent promotion would have been a real possibility. Most readers would accept that I think. Nothing is certain in life. There are no guarantees.
You can answer your own questions. You appear to be very hard work with each post having a little dig at the end. It is probably a form of bullying and in contravention of the rules of this forum.
