| Poor behaviour from Wales rugby fans 22:11 - Nov 22 with 1760 views | builthjack | I was driving around most of today and had radio Wales on. Quite a lot of time was taken up talking about the shocking behaviour at Wales gamesvat the Millennium. Pi££Ed up fans causing bother, people spewing over fans etc etc. They even had an ex International rugby player saying he prefers to go to Welsh football matches as it's proper fans and better atmosphere, and everyone isn't pi££ed. It must be bad or BBC Wales would normally cover it up. | |

| Poor behaviour from Wales rugby fans on 22:26 - Nov 22 with 1327 views | majorraglan | It’s been like that for years, but the later 5.30pm kick off means people are on the lash for even longer before the game and standards of behaviour just goes through the floor. The fact people can drink whilst in their seat watching the game doesn’t help. It’s a minority who cause the problems, but it’s a pretty sizeable minority. In football the legislation and enforcement of behavioural standards is much tougher, fans can be arrested and given a banning order for being drunk, possessing alcohol or being in possession of alcohol whilst trying to gain entry. | | | |
| Poor behaviour from Wales rugby fans on 22:49 - Nov 22 with 1303 views | KeithHaynes | Having lived in gloucester for twenty five plus years the games at Kingsholm were always a hotbed of partisan support. But of course come the end of the game and when the police were tied up with literally hundreds of people from the match pissed up and fighting in pubs post 6pm it was never a rugby incident. Especially games v Bath and Leicester. It made me laugh out loud when Tranmere and Cheltenham fans, about twelve of them were scrapping in a pub on a Sunday dinner time a day after the game were considered a football related incident. | |

It’s a cultural thing on international day. I very rarely meet anyone who actually likes rugby or knows much about it. They just go for the piss up and aren’t even remotely interested in the club sides.

Have seen quite a few quotes online from people demanding that the WRU crack down on the day trippers and ensure that only people who care about the rugby can get into games. They don't seem to realise that if they did that the stadium would only be about half full.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

I have been on facebook pointing this out. It is horrendous Our home crowd looks what it is.A pyssup. The players look like they have just stepped out of the stands, shoved a shirt and boots on and started the game. Great time for "anti eggers" though. They love to see Wales lose.

The kid was crying as he was soaked in spew. Not good at all. The mother and son were Swans fans too.

A lot of these people are more concerned with getting on the tv than watching the game. I've been to games, 15+ years back, where the drunkenness and fighting was always covered up. It didn't seem to be so bad in the old Arms Park, I only went there a few times but it was all about the game, not beer and getting on camera. We don't even watch the games on tv any more. I used to love the rugby when I was a kid.

Spending time in the concourse is not restricted to the Rugby. I recall going to see the Who in the Liberty. They were well into their set when I had to make a quick visit to the toilet. When I got down to the concourse I saw people queuing up at the bar. Couldn't believe it. Tickets weren't cheap either.

I remember back in the 60s at the old Arms Park, before the grandeur of the Millennium Stadium. In one match we were packed like sardines, all standing in those days, when some pisshead decides to just relieve himself right where he was standing. A space quickly formed in front of him as people naturally didn’t want it over them. And then the natural conclusion, was that one of the piss-threatened fans smacked him right on the mush and flattened him. His mates dragged him away and the match continued. Rough, but effective justice. Pity that drunken vomiter hadn’t been treated likewise. No excuse for behaviour like that. In my younger drinking years we would refer to such dregs who can’t hold their drink as ‘a low class of drunk’. [Post edited 23 Nov 2021 12:18]

Such rough justice was pretty much allowed back then, today both would be nicked. back in the late 70's and 80's people would take a leak at the back of the North bank rather than spend 20 minutes trying to get to the toilets. Did it myself.

That reminds me about a time years ago when i went to West Brom to watch Liverpool play, as a mate had a spare ticket last minute. The Liverpool lot were pissing all over the terracing, it was soaking and stinking. Not good.

Builth. Between the two of us for all times sake; I married my first wife in 1973 and we used to go back regularly to see her family. Her brother was a Red and we used to go to Liverpool games at Anfield. Stood on Kop after queuing for hours and getting sh't on by police horses. Kop was full of comedians-seriously.Witty ,sharp and friendly. Had a great time with them on there. I was also there for the St Etienne game. It aint the same now. Ive not been back since our last game where the crowd were ,to me,pitiful.

Yes that would be interesting, but due to COVID, Mr Drakeford and personal circumstances, it’s now over 2 years since I visited Wales. Perhaps some time when I eventually manage to get down there we’ll have that pint.👠
