What do you mean I’m telling you what you do? I have been a sports trader at the top of my field for the last decade. I can only imagine you are Gibraltar based as opposed to in one of the metropolitan cities. The fact you haven’t run out of accounts in 30 years is mind boggling, I ran out of accounts before the end of my first year. Well known in the industry, really? We almost certainly know each other then. Feel free to PM me your name.

It’s not an odds on play though, the fact you think it is baffles me. That would get hammered into next week within an hour. You realise that despite the upturn in form that market still isn’t odds on don’t you? A value play and a certainly aren’t even in the same realms.

They said it was a transitional season during Cooper's first season he still managed a play off spot. Mind you Cooper was a quick learner and was happy to adjust his team when the circumstances dictated. It has taken Martin a bit too long to start playing centre halfs in their correct position which is why we have kept two clean sheets in out last two matches.

Cooper had a vastly better squad and he only switched to his successful 3ATB away from his 4231 vs Sheffield Wednesday after an injury crisis forced his hand in the last few months of the season. Fair enough giving him credit for his great work at Forest but don’t change the past. Cabango hasn’t changed position from where he began the season. We still play a backline consisting of Manning and Naughton so where has this idea that we’ve suddenly switched to a separate defensive system come from? The players have simply began learning and adapting to the system better leading to less defensive errors as many have said would happen from the beginning | | | | Login to get fewer ads

If you could show me a link or anything where Sky said that Coopers first season was a transition? I agree that it was for him personally, first club management job but with a squad he inherited that had a 80k a week striker then I don't think we were a club that was in transition at the time.

Mackie seen it, Sky Sports as a whole can see it, plenty who are realistic and don't have an agenda against something or someone can see it! It may be frustrating and instant success and results are pined for but unrealistic demands are just silly. Sorry if it doesn't suit fans agendas but listen to the people who are professionals and know a bit more about these things(Mackie and Sky Sports).

So you only think something is or isn’t the case if “Sky said it”? Cooper changed the way we played from Potter, Cooper had 8 new faces to bring into the side and was given almost nothing to spend. If there ever was an example of a “transition season” (there is no such thing) - then that was it. How much salary a legacy player was on makes no difference, it was signed when he was in the Premier League and nothing to do with his signature in the Championship. We have spent £5m this season, a luxury Cooper could only dream of. There is no difference between this season and Coopers first season here other than the “no pre season” stuff, yet he’s had a Xmas one instead.

Where we are as a club is 17th. With 1 win in 7. We are playing sensibly in patches of the season (possession at 56% and 57% last two games) and doing well as a result and then playing ridiculously in other patches and getting stuffed. Where we go as a club is not for Mackie or “Sky as a whole” (whatever that means) to say. As a club we go in the direction we are set up in and that lies with Martin, will we continue to play sensibly or will we return to a ridiculous style of play again. Time will tell on that front.

We are 17th, there are many ways to play football. Anyone that thinks we do it the best is smoking something. It’s all well and good to pretend these statements are accurate, but let’s be realistic here. We rarely win. It’s usual for managers to be complimentary of the other team, it’s rare for a manager to say how bad the other side are. At times this season we have been awful, truly awful. At times we have been ok. Rarely have we been excellent. That’s why we are 17th

I think 17th is a false position, along with Sheffield United we have played the least games than any of the other clubs. We have 3 games in hand over some, 2 games in hand over others, with a game in hand over the remainder. Our true position will be evident when we have all played the same amount of games.

We are in the position we are playing with what i think is a brand of football that will get us challenging for promotion with the squad being built to play this way. Anyone can see that our defence and WB roles will need pace adding. As we havnt got a pot to pee in this has to be done on the cute some players work like Downes some like Pato think they are above the team, we need to back this manager IMHO as the only thing i can see that i cant fathom out is Players out of position at certain times. Why the new GK isnt playing, and why Fulton hasnt been used more.

If we take our average points per game ratio (1.28) and use that to catch up in games with those around us, it would take us to 14th if we performed to our season average in those games in hand, which with 1 win in 7 seems a reasonable estimate. Either way, we clearly aren’t anywhere near the best in the division.

| Jamie Mackie Quote. on 10:04 - Jan 26 with 690 views | DwightYorkeSuperstar | MK Dons have improved since he left. Swansea City have gone backwards since he joined. We're more than halfway through the season and would be sitting level on points with the team in 19th if not for Derby's 21 point deduction. I sincerely doubt Jamie Mackie has watched most of our matches, or has any understanding of Russell Martin's decision making throughout this season. From trying to ostracise our best striker at the beginning of the season to whatever has gone on between himself and Fulton - it has been poor. As we speak, arguably our best player during the first half of the season has gone on strike and we'll be lucky to see him leave for a fee this month. My point is, pundits, especially those desperately trying to get booked in next week's round of televised matches, will say whatever they have to to avoid controversy and complaints. Roy Keane can criticise and get booked next week by Sky. Jamie Mackie can't. [Post edited 26 Jan 2022 10:06]

It’s the fashionable stance unfortunately, SKY are a corporation that panders to fans and fans in the main are fickle. I can’t imagine a manager saying how bad the opposition is and how the manager will never get anywhere in life, it doesn’t really happen. Pundits, especially at this level parrot fans sentiment, they are very lazy and uninformed, I wouldn’t put it past them doing 20 mins “Twitter research” to formulate their views. If someone was asked about Aidan Newhouse at the time they would have said “great pedigree and an excellent future in the game but lacking a bit of confidence in front of goal” - that’s football. The trick is to read past the rubbish and see things for what they are. We are ok, should be way better than we are. Have a style that is extremely powder puff and we only really pick up strings of results when we back away from it. That’s the long and the short of it. [Post edited 26 Jan 2022 10:22]

| Jamie Mackie Quote. on 11:38 - Jan 26 with 627 views | OptimisticJack | The problem with football these days is the expectation of instant gratification and I see it with some of our fans. We have lost our way on the footballing side since Gary Monk became the manager. Russell Martin was appointed to try and get us back to playing football in a manner which we received plaudits worldwide. We all knew this would take time. This was always going to be a season of transition. We have played less matches than any other EFL club since before mid December and have to play catch up with fixtures therefore the table is so difficult to gauge. We as fans need to be patient. I'm confident that Russell Martin is our man. | |

“Was always going to be a season of transition”. It’s just incorrect to say that. Why 46 games? Why not 56? 66? 106? 306? There is no transitions in football. So after this season, we have officially “transitioned” I take it? Or will it then change to “period of transition” with no fixed end, just like the 10 games turned into 20, and the 20 turned into 2 transfer windows, which then turned into 4 transfer windows… and will no doubt keep extending until he departs. We have always changed styles and never needed to write of a whole season. Certainly not in a season where we have spent the second highest amount in our football league history to help that on its way. We should be getting results now, we are going into February. There is no reason at all we can’t be competing higher up the league regardless of what style of football we play.

This Even trundle trying to state how all us fans were desperate to get Paterson back on the pitch wreaked of treading the line instead of stating how generally as fans we were t happy They might as well not have pundits any more as none of them bring much to the table when talking about teams they have very little information of and are scared of stating anything seen as controversial
