Reading through this post, I just want to applaud the positive fans who responded not just superbly to the original post but also with their refreshing honesty.

So many posts end up as battles, this one could have ended up the same but it hasn't and I take my hat off to the posters who are pint half full people as their reaction to this post has been superb.

Well done those posters and also a mention to the starter of the post who also showed class in his response to them 👌

You're right.
OHL didnt like him early on,wouldnt say "at the start" though, more like the Preston game where we dumped Piroe for favour of Cullen. Read that again.Piroe dumped and Cullen played in midfield. Alarm bells ring very loud to me and I see beyond the veneer people portray and Martin is all about veneer. He still is. He will take some removing but that said, journos Ive een and heard are gutless. At a bigger club,he would be destroyed, trust me.Few fanbases would put up with what we are currently doing so.

There is NO long term plan, simply a pitiful obsession of playing suicide football starting with the goalkeeper.

Hard to argue with.

The second half of the season yielded almost as much as the first half, 6 points difference.

If we added 6 points to the second half of the season we still would have finished 4th.

There was no capitulation.

We capitulated in the white flag final where we didn't even give it go.

Of course we gave it a go, but we had 10 men after 60 mins against a fantastic side who were odds on favorites for the match. We got to where we were building from a solid defensive game, would have been madness to ditch that and go all out attack - we didn't even have a striker.

As Russell would say, we dominated possession. Had 9 attempts on goal. That's life, Brentford were the better team hence why they finished above us.

Would have been a shock if we won.

We were 2-0 down with 11 players and if my memory serves me correctly we did not have one of those shots on target. There was no effort in the team and they were only giving out negative vibes, I was sitting right behind the goals when they scored, a couple of rows back and you could visibly see them give up after 20 minutes.

Indeed but there is 90 mins in a game of football, getting the man sent off meant we were unable to mount a come back.

Not being able to direct one of the 9 attempts on target is hardly Coopers fault. He can't shoot for them.

It was a game where we lost to the better side, as simple as that.

After we went 2-0 down we had 45 minutes with 11 players to stage a comeback but gave up. A better team can look a lot better when one lacks belief, effort and passion.

Have your normal egotistic last word as most posters expect, I will just leave it there.

We didn't give up, we were reduced to 10 men. If we gave up then that is a great performance considering to keep one of the best sides in the league to 0-0 and dominating possession.

I would suggest it is more to do with your egotistical expectation for others to agree with you and not reply to your inaccuracies.

Sorry to disappoint.

I don't want to go down that route, I just want to give credit to the reactions to the one who were called out in the original post.

I think they were very proactive rather than reactive, the response was superb and very open minded.... Could easily have been defensive but the response and honesty was top class.

There was nothing to react to, it was hardly an aggressive post.

People have been absolutely out of order with their abuse towards those of us who have now been proven to have been spot on.

From what I interpreted the OP as was a gentle nudge to remind people to stop polarizing after every win, because under this regime they are few and far between and nothing that has been said can be painted as unjustified regardless of what the next result is.

We have been awful this season and the comments have reflected that.

I don’t recall anyone saying anything positive about last nights performance, it was a shocking display.
What we don’t need after a performance like that is so called fans turning on others by referring to them as ‘happy clappers’ in an attempt to state how correct they have been about the management.
I’m convinced there is one or two on here who can’t wait for us to lose so they can splurge out their statistics and their dislike of the manager, we don’t need squiggly red lines and arrows on charts to tell us that we are having a poor season.

Given also some of the other posts I and I was the originator of this here is my response

My post came as a result of frustration...it is no secret I have been critical of the football we have since since Martins appointment mainly because it was being posted that all of a sudden how much better it all was than last season, despite the results being worse and what I saw presented on the pitch.
I sat through some boring matches 3 , 0-0 draws at home where we barely threatened the oppostions goal...yet we did keep the ball and passed it around mainly in our half...so how come this was better?
My postings were labelled negative and I was labelled with tags such as Cooper boy

I continued with my critique by further researching Martin and posting data based in his
previous managerial experience where it was apparant he had " an obsession with possession" over results,we also started to turn things around with our wins against Cardiff and WBA at whihc point I gave him credit and praise....and did so after Saturday...
I believe that when we have done well I have posted positively.

I have no dislike of the manager....I have a dislike of his system and his approach but do get frustrated at the blind optimism that somehow despite what he achieved at MKDons and his current "performance" that given time and transfer windows he will be a "great" manager.
Martin keeps talking of a "process" and to trust in the "process" . Where I come from processes are measured and if you look at his past and current data trends nothing points to show that that optimism is founded

It does seem ok though that when we win the optimistic brigade can come out and attempt to call the "socalled " negative brigade out but when it happens the other way round its wrong.

I have posted several times that the divide in the fan base is crazy....we all have different opinions and are entitled to them but for me it seems those who do not "tow the party line" are treated with alomist the same vile as we reserve for those in the away end on match days. I hate hypocrisy yet there are those on here telling those who only watch games via a screen they cannot understand as they are not at the game despite those same posters having made and still commenting on last seasons games and football despite only being able to watch via a screen then themselves.
I dont post to score points, I post to voice my opinion and ususally try to speak with data I do it as I care about my club...if I were "happy" we were losing for same sadisitc reason why would I criticise the main contributor to the failure.
I also have not called for his head as I know we cannot afford financially to release him and his team In one of my posts on Tuesday following his inexscusable interview I remarked how he is out of his depth, and could do with some help but where in the club could that come from? And would his ego allow it?

We have a history of appointing rookie managers, Tosh back in Div 4 a low risk given where we were despite the sterling wotk of a great much under appreciated club legend in Harry Griffiths. Tosh had Shankley as a mentor ......ROberto had Curt on the staff, Cooper had Marsh , MArtin just has a team of contempories around him.

I worry about the club in general, I am not convinced about WInter and Allen and dont forget we no longer have an ownership with an emotional attachment to the club as we did from 2002 -2016 or did previously with the likes of Malcolm Struel and Doug Sharpe at the helm. Our current owners are in it for the money and they got sold a pup...I would hate to think what would happen if we were relegated.

It is my dislike of hypocrisy which also contributed to my putting up this thread as it does/did seem that whenver we win the "half fulls" are quick to post to again attack the "half empties" yet the more vocal seem to go missing in action when we lose.

Again I also have not called for Martins sacking I have posted a few times that maybe the likes of Winter and Allen should have a word in his ear...Yes he has an ideal on how he wants to play but simetimes you cannot change things overnight and there has to be compromise to still achive results whilst making the change to where the vision is when the suitable resoucres and conditions allow......I speak form experience as a manager in industry having managed change both successfully and disasterously and seen it form others too as I am sure many in here can testify.

There is no winner in this current situation and I certainly dont post to point socre, crow or do be "I told you so". I actually want MArtin to suceed as then so will the club I love but I do not have the personality which will sit bacl and blindly igonre reality over hope.

I do find that hard to accept....Brentfords second goal cam as a result of a breakaway where a Swans move broke down Ayew fell over in their penalty area at which time there were six Swans players in the Brentford box 2 just outsie so 8 Swans player in the the attacking third of the pitch and jut 2 men back....Brentford did us for pace ...
ayew also had a headr hit the bar and another attempt tipped over....
This myth that we didnt try is just that....if we werent trying how come Fulton got sent off for making a desperate challenge to get the ball?

Not disagreeing with you there.

What I am trying to say is the response to this post which is in line with the posts you refer too, has been terrific with no adverse reactions and brutal honesty.

I won't go there with how the non so happy clappers respond but the happy clappers have been very cool, calm and honest in their response to this original post.

Just want to highlight the positiveness in this post that could have easily have gone the other way. Could have easily argued blue is black but didn't.

Well the answer to that is obvious.

The happy clappers have had to accept reality, there is literally nowhere left, no more excuses, no more rubbish. Its the cold hard reality of it.

Non happy clappers have not been put into that position yet, because at no point in this season have they looked anything other than spot on.

I wouldn't say the OP was a class post but his response and others were first class.
No throwing things in people's faces, no shouting that they were right and others wrong....it was all respectful and very honest interaction.

Still a way to go in this journey and the final outcome has not been reached yet, hopefully these little debates can be like this one going forward with plenty of give and take, honesty but also keeping the debate going healthily.

Hopefully some have seen the responses in this post and seen others in a better light.

There was always going to ba lot of frustration this season, we were going to be in a situation aside from the relegation season in the prem where we have not been used too.
Its going to be an interesting ride and we are not yet at the finish line, time will tell if it will work or not but none of us can claim at this stage we are right or we called it because as it stands the journey hasn't come to its conclusion.
Some will see reaching the play off final as success, others as failure.
Others would accept a mid table finish others not.
Some thought we would struggle this season others expected us to be challenging the top 6.
Who claims they were right or wrong based on one's expectation given how realistic or unrealistic their expectations are/were.

Who's the all calling God who decides who is right and wrong? Apart from a handful of teams, it's a question with no real answer.... Where should we be/finish in this division?!

I give up

This is an excerpt from a site article posted today if thats not unbiased and pointed then I ll eat my Swans bobble hat!

But hang on ! None of us are players, and none of us are managers at this level, we just say what we see, and use our experience to analyse what could be. That’s what we all do, even those who don’t see that clearly, it’s all about an opinion. Even though there are always those whose opinion is clouded by their own bias. That’s certain. The rest of us continue to hope and continue to watch. That’s what we do, we all love our teams for the same reasons, we want them to succeed. There’s no value in hoping the swans lose for short term gain in sacking a manager and staff who are clearly here for the long haul. It makes the whole seasons plan pointless as we have said before.

Russell Martin still has the supoort of the majority, and still has a clear vision on how he wants to get this Swansea City side back functioning in the way he wants. And all we can do, despite our discussions is hope he gets it right.

Can't see much wrong with that post, the hope bit at the end doesn't feel right but ultimately any appointment isnt guaranteed success so when you think about it!

Somethings happen quicker than others, somethings never happen but one thing I can say...... We are not in desperation territory nor do I think we will be this season.

This season was a free roll of the dice, we didn't hit a double 6 but we should walk away with learning a lot of that I am sure.

Indeed. Despite a lot of abuse and anger directed at us all who called this right from the start, I don’t feel anyone has overstepped the mark. All the myths and lies made up to justify the abuse and to try and split the fans, it hasn’t worked. We have risen above it and explained why those myths are myths, why the lies and lies and why the rubbish is rubbish.

We all want Martin to succeed, but wanting him to succeed and him doing the right thing to enable him to do so are vastly different things.

He needs to learn and learn quickly.

Bookmarking twice......under It aint over till the fat lady sings....and ,,Premature ejaculation.

Are you trying to say that it might be a bit early to call it this stage!?

I agree with you though, seems to be a early claims of being right or victorious in the scenario we are in.

Although it's not a great position as we look, it's not a million miles from where I thought we would be realistically at the seasons start. It's been painful on times but the signs have been there.....would be nice to have the consistency but that now has to be one if the next processes to work on.

Its certainly to early to be making such claims given the whole picture and job at hand. Will he succeed, I am not sure but certainly am not naive enough to start making wild claims. Time will tell.
