| Distinct lack of happy clappers today on 13:37 - Feb 10 by magicdaps10 | Are you trying to say that it might be a bit early to call it this stage!? I agree with you though, seems to be a early claims of being right or victorious in the scenario we are in. Although it's not a great position as we look, it's not a million miles from where I thought we would be realistically at the seasons start. It's been painful on times but the signs have been there.....would be nice to have the consistency but that now has to be one if the next processes to work on. Its certainly to early to be making such claims given the whole picture and job at hand. Will he succeed, I am not sure but certainly am not naive enough to start making wild claims. Time will tell. |
Who is making wild claims Where we are currently is in a mess there is a lack of cohesion every time we go on the pitch...Saturdays gritty performance was good the backs tot eh wall stuff after the early goal got us through ...on another day Blackburn could have converted their chances and another L on the board. If I could see a pattern on the pitch it would help but our performances are just not there ... I just fail to see how given more time and transfer windows things will change unles there is a variation form plan A But then that my opinion with bias apparantly

Too early to call what? What has been commented on is what has happened, not on what is to come. I’m not sure why people find that so hard to grasp. I have made the same point countless times now. Saying we played awfully against Stoke for example, isn’t going to be proven incorrectly by playing well in three weeks time. What comes is irrelevant to what’s been, it’s what has already happened that is the discussion point, and that has been awful for the exact reasons we stated early on and continued to state to this day. Those same points are now frequently talked about as if common place and common knowledge even by the happy clappers these days, but let’s not forget the abuse levelled at those who saw it early. I think even after the Blackburn game I said “I don’t think we have the players to play this way, don’t you think it may be better to be a little more pragmatic in defence until we get the players in that can play this way”. I was told that professional players can play any way they are told, patience, Martin should not change anything etc etc etc added to the usual abusive post aimed in the direction.

Indeed, the only wild claims I’ve read recently is that everyone that goes to the game is happy and it’s only those that can’t happen to be the realistic ones. Hmmm

Just stated to the poster that I was not naive enough to make wild claims, not saying you are. I see your views and understand your concerns. Think there is potential for things to click and I have said that he needs to revert to a 4-5-1 with Wingers used for me seeing it working, he has shown signs of this so I am encouraged by that. If he plays the said formation with the outlet of Wingers along with his style of play then I can see it clicking and certainly working. Its all about opinions Vetch and yours is not wrong and I certainly am not arrogant enough to say that you are.....we all hope that Martin does succeed, some are worried others can see the little rays of light.

Sheeple = derogatory term meaning like sheep ( one that is easily led ) Clearly do not know me or Daps at all. Our views may differ from you and the other members of the "glass half empty" clan, but as I stated elsewhere on this forum, my views are my own. I do not need to be led, nor do I follow other people's opinions. I may agree with other people's opinions ( God forbid, I have even agreed with some of yours), but that is totally different. If being a " happy clapper" means I support the club, team and manager ( although those that know me know I am very critical of them when they deserve it, as after Tuesday's debacle and RM's unbelievable interview), I would rather be that than one of the "glass half empty gang", who criticise RM and the team and seem to revel in each defeat or poor performance. You are not supporters - you are all a disgrace and the club would be better off without you

“ I would rather be that than one of the "glass half empty gang", who criticise RM and the team and seem to revel in each defeat or poor performance. You are not supporters - you are all a disgrace and the club would be better off without you.” Can you expand on that? Any examples of this “revelling”? From how I see it. There is a group on here who took an early stance against anyone who spoke about the reality of the situation as they wanted to believe this hype dream they were putting together. Now it appears reality has set in, instead of admitting they were wrong to attack others for stating the truth, they are circumventing that by accusing those who were correctly critical of “enjoying or revelling in it”. It’s a way to continue to attack the people who have proven they were correct and absolutely justified in their comments without admitting responsibility for how this group were treated and spoken to. That’s the shameful thing.

Prime example is Perch laughing when it was 0 - 0 at Stoke. In general you know that you , Perch, Andy Cole and a few others cannot wait for us to lose before you are posting your "I told you so" type posts. I don't know why but your manner reminds of that fellas that posted constantly about Gylfi and Llorente ( calling Llorente Wardrobe) and couldn't wait to see both out of the club. Where did you say you lived again ? Aberdare or Aussie ?

So you know we cannot wait for us to lose citing what examples and evidence please? Because again, this sounds like an avoidance to admit these people were right all along and instead of holding your hands up to the fact, continuing to give yourself an angle of attack by fabricating that they are enjoying losing. It is fans with attitudes so toxic that they have to continually attack a group of supporters who have called it right from the start that should be nowhere near our club. Own it.

It is not my belief that you and your fellow "GHE" members have "called it right" as yu put it. However even if ( in some fantasy alternative universe) you and they had, why would that be anything to draw pleasure from ? Not once in your many ramblings have I read anything such as " It gives me no pleasure to be right about Martin's shortcomings " or something of that ilk Strange that for one who classes himself as a supporter

Pleasure? Where are you reading pleasure? Can you quote it for me? Surely you didn’t make it up again to continue giving yourself an angle of attack… Which part of what we have said do you not think is correct then? Any specifics?

Which suggestion? Show me what your suggestion is and I will happily challenge it, if it is wrong. Also when you were rambling about the post match interview that you didn’t like, at no point did you say it was giving you no pleasure. We can only assume you were revelling in it then. You make the rules you have to stand by them.

Nope, whenever we get any kind of a result, those that have raised concerns are continually attacked. Showing justification for our correct assertions is not pleasure, it’s duty due to the actions of people like you. I have said many times I would like Martin to succeed, I have nothing against him other than the fact he sets his teams up badly and is wedded to a system that doesn’t work for the reasons I have explained many times. Just because they prove correct doesn’t mean I enjoy it. I would assume it’s more the fact you are frustrated by it than anyone enjoying it.

Certain games and results have certainly proved frustrating. However nowhere near as many as did under Cooper % wise BTW still haven't challenged me on my questioning where you live or if you were a previous poster under a different username? I wonder why ?
