Just watched a Crimewatch programme about a Met Officer off duty stabbed to death when trying to apprehend a bad snatcher .
Still unsolved.
Maybe they shouldn't bother. Maybe if they're off duty there are off duty.

Maybe people should be able to opt out of paying for Police
Then,if they get robbed,burgled ,slashed,stabbed or have their kids abued,wife raped or their grandparents conned out of their life savings,they can sort it out themselves and Police can then get on with protecting those who appreciate what they do.
Reality is,they will protect angry whether he likes it or not. If his kids/grandkids fall into a river or are trapped in a burning building some farking bent piece of filth will turn up and try to ave life. Its what they do ,when they aren't accepted bribes or beating up innocent people or stopping drivers of colour for no reason at all | |

The police response to Mayhill was shocking, but I suspect the fault is attributable to either the system or an individual further up the chain of command as opposed to the bobbies on the beat. The officers in the van had no choice other than to withdraw, what are 3 or 4 cops going to do against a mob of that number, they could easily have been seriously injured or worse. | | | |
