it's ironic how the gammons are always banging on about people being offended yet, when after 14 straight white Dr's and a straight white female Dr they get offended by a black man playing the lead role.

It's always amusing how many people feel the need to comment negatively about subjects they subsequently claim not to care about.
BUT, no he didn't. he complained about several things but the colour of the new Doctor didn't come into it.
People can still have an opinion about things they don't really care about. I post opinions quite often about things that don't really bother me.
What bothers me about Doctor Who (and the reason I don't care about it and don't watch it anymore) is that it has become utterly rubbish. I'll blame it on the scriptwriter, the production team and the actors, they are all equally to blame.

As for the topic, don’t watch it so not really bothered. But it’s no secret that television and film is becoming a bit of a tick box exercise. Don’t know this actors ability so can’t comment on this specific instance, as others have mentioned, due to the character being able to morph into anyone I have no reason to believe that is the case here.
It’s the obviously forced and senseless stuff which I object to.
I think they are bringing rules into the OSCARS where you can only win Best Picture if one of your main characters is from a minority racial or sexuality group, or a story surrounding a character from such groups. There are other quotas too in terms of make up artists etc
In any walk of life, when you employ via quota instead of qualification, quality deteriorates. Can you imagine if the NBA or NFL had an 85% white quota to fill, in order to match up with population demographic split - quality of the sport would crash in a second. It would probably last 12 months before dying.
