Why would anyone want to see him now. He was crap in the 80's, crap in the 90's, crap from the year 2000 onwards. Where's his fan base. Who actually likes his music. It boggles the mind...or are we just easily pleased...
Edit: Just got in...and there's an earlier thread...same thoughts..
Post 1970 PM is a few gems in a bucket of horseshit.
A handful of my favorite songs as a little kid: Maybe I'm Amazed, Uncle Albert/Adm Halsey (the song that proved he was doing some good drugs), BOTR, Jet, and LALD.
On the other hand, you had Silly Love Songs, Ebony & Ivory, the doggone Girl Is Mine abortion, and that "Someone's Knockin At The Door!" vomit manufacting device.

One of the greatest musicians ever and one who has entertained millions for 60 years . Now,that is a legacy . Amazing to see his shows packed out sold immediately so nit all share your views.
I think the reason that many youngsters want to see Paul McCartney in impressive numbers is because he is seen as an historically significant music and songwriting legend and rock/pop music royalty.
A case of bragging rights to say "I've seen Paul McCartney" despite many saying/thinking his best days and peak performance(s) are long gone. Ditto if John Lennon was alive today he would have packed out Glastonbury also.
And nostalgia sells well with so many past acts reforming to perform again and it seems to be so fascinating to many?
Honestly think out of all of the Beatles George did the best stuff after the break up followed closely by Ringo for his excellent performance on Thomas the tank engine.

Agreed on George, my favorite Beatle and the most musically talented and underrated writer of the 4. All Things Must Pass is easily the best album any of them put out after the break up.

Yeah I love the Traveling Wilbury’s too and of course of it wasn’t for George Monty Python wouldn’t have been able to make any of their movies.

Yeah. What was sad about the Beatles was the way George was marginalised. A fantastic musician

Now then,for garbage,see Diana Ross
Looks like you have become confused yet again we are saying how crap he is as a live performer and not one of his shows on his current tour we're a sell out, I guess the only reason people would want to see him is because of the quality of his songs certainly not his ability as a live performer.

He wasn't a prolific writer compared to the other two. A good guitarist, yes

Not prolific, but the rare songs the Beatles recorded and released of his (Something, Here Comes the Sun, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, etc.) were some of their best.
And perhaps the lack of output wasn't his fault. Notice he had a triple album's worth of great stuff ready immediately after they broke up.
Watched it yesterday. I am a Beatles and Paul McCartney fan, but found most of the show self indulgent and disappointing ( especially the finale. Some brilliant guitarists on show but instead of playing a medley of Beatles / Wings songs, finished with a boring jamming session). I will stick to listening to his / their recorded music

It happens. Self indulgence is part and parcel of performing. My all time favourite band, the Doors had the most self indulgent front man of all yet we still listen to the genius of Morrison who destroyed everything he had. That can't be said for McCartney.
