Trump as president also dropped less bombs than any American president in a long time. He also was on relative good terms with North Korea, plus didn’t he warn years ago of relying on Russian energy ? They laughed at him, they ain’t laughing now are they 😂

Look at the work they are doing at State level with the electoral colleges and the Supreme Court. It's worrying, especially the way they will back away from NATO

I'm sure I posted an opinion along those lines several years back, politics in this country is aimed at divide and conquer, whoever we vote in the government, the politicians as a whole win because there isn't a fag paper between the Labour and Tory party's. As long as they keep the people divided (pitted against each other as you say) the easier it is for them to do as they please.
It's why I came to the conclusion that we need to do away with party politics and all our MP's should be independent, no whips, every vote a free vote.

By legitimately elected government I assume you mean Yanukovych's government? In which case, as you should be aware, the people turned against Yanukovych after he went back on promises, turned away from an EU agreement and instead started sidling up to Putin. The people didn't want Russia involved in their country let alone their government which is why the Maidan revolution happened.
Maidan was the will of the Ukrainian people whoever else supported it. They didn't want Russia and they still don't as the people (even Russian speaking people) have shown by uniting behind Zelenskyy and fighting so hard they gave Putin a bloody nose.
