Remember the former Police Training in the old days.
I went to Bruche and being a bit of a knob almost chinned the Boy Sergeant who shouted at me a I booked in the Sunday night before the course started.
The Drill Sergeant was a former RSM complete with handlebar moustache and huge bellowing voice. Yep,I was terrified

Standing in ranks whilst waiting to commence PT Training and making a one and only mistake of messing about a PTI gave me such a dig in the kidney I collapsed like an unsupported sack of spuds , never once did I think of reporting him , different times if the snowflakes nowadays are complaining about being shouted at

I joined RAF in 1980 and the first 6 weeks were soldier training, learning about the discipline marching etc. Got shouted at from the first minute we got off the bus at the training camp in Swinderby.

It was all part of ensuring everyone pulled in the same direction and weeding out non team players. Some tried to be clever but they either quickly learnt or left.

Never did I feel bullied but understood what the process was and what they were trying to do. Bearing in mind there were guys from all walks of life, backgrounds and ages.

They were great times.

Halton for me to do my trade training and being shouted at 4 times a day marching to classes in the morning then back up the hill for lunch then back down again to classes then again at the end of the day marching back to accommodation.
