I wonder if those same people will be going to work on the 19th or taking advantage of having a day off. I have already myself come across a few contradictions, people now after moaning are all up for the day off on the 19th 🙈

| This bank holiday on Monday 19th on 09:51 - Sep 13 by Fireboy2 | Tbh Cat, I want to work because I want to miss all the palaver. I'm a republican and im hoping this event is the beginning of the end of the monachy, as you can see with my lack of posts I've been respectful, i respect other peoples opinions and therefore i expect my opinion to also be respected. If i was at the game i wouldn't boo the anthem if it was played, i would stay in the concorse, no way should it be played because it would be booed |
So yet again, we are in the same boat. I have also tried to show respect but nobody is better purely because of the family they are born into.

| This bank holiday on Monday 19th on 19:39 - Sep 12 by alltjack | I'm between a rock and a hard place, there is no way I wan't a day off next Monday as I'm as Anti Royal as you can get, I have spoken to my customer and he has no problem with me working on his roof on Monday, however I employ 2 people, 1 self employed, and like myself want's to work that day and the other a young lad employed direct, who, surprisingly, has become a Royal fanatic and want's the day off( to go on the piss with his mates). When I explained to him that although I would give him the day off but was under no obligation to pay him Iv'e become the biggest w****** in the world and all his mates are getting paid for the day and so should he, so, here is my dilemma, do I, against all my principles, pay him, because he's a good lad and very hard working? If I do pay him I would feel obligated to pay the other fella to keep harmony in the camp and therefore have to have the day off myself, which I dont want to do. Thoughts? |
If he is a good hard working lad then worth paying him. Honest hard working youngsters are hard to find in today's entitled culture

That's the biggest reason why I do not believe I monarchies, we are all human beings, as you say Cat, why are they better than us.

Not sure how you would define "better", if you mean better educated , better opportunities in life , better bank balance and all that brings then I'd have to say yes they're most of populations so called "betters" , but as a person then no and how could they just because of their status in life .

They are NOT better than us.that is used by anti monarchists like yourself. I am not keen on our monarchy and how excessive it is but Monarchy in itself has merits. I well remember the King of the Netherlands at a Veterans open day swanning about the field with just one chap in attendance. My son swam, along with others ,with his wife ,the Queen, in an Amsterdam canal swim for charities.Wilhem Alexander and his missus are laid back and very unfussy. You would be staggered at their relatively modest for monarchy home outside the Hague.

They dont have a better life,at least not compared with me. I can go anywhere anytime and see my children and their children without consulting security and am free. They are not. Freedom is everything. I can do what I please, when I please and where and with whom . Public schools better? My 'rse they are Brought up by nanny? Indulged by staff Being informed what to wear according to protocol. Everywhere ,Paparazzi, hangers on,fawning media, snivelling polititians and dead beat Presidents from Basket Case countries.

No they are not better yet many think them so, specially amongst their own kind. Edward has always been quite rude about us "grockles" and Andrew, enough said. It is not used by anti-monarchists for any reason other than it is true. Those monarchy's that have changed, accepted they are just people like the rest of us don't live in the same world as our Royalty and it took many hundreds of years to persuade them they aren't our betters. Our Queen was one of a kind. PS, I don't believe in the "honours" system either and wouldn't accept one if King Charles begged.
