Is BLM dead in the water now? It appears organisations and people in general are scrambling away from them as quick as possible. Your #BLM that was seen everywhere now seems to be a distant memory.
Anyway, Osbourne has demanded her $900,000 donation be returned to her after it is becoming clear the funds were being used for personal gain of the organisers. Something that was pointed out 18-24 months ago on here by one or two
Patrice Cullors who is the founder of the organisation who previously said she was taking nothing, not a cent, was revealed to be drawing $170,000 a year salary and using funds to buy multi million dollar houses in predominantly white neighbourhoods, while preaching that rich black people should stay in their neighbourhoods to raise the standard of living in those areas.
It’s been a total sham.
One thing the left do very well is their linguistic games. “Black Lives Matter” and “ANTIFA” spring to mind. The average Joe finds it hard to oppose organisations that name themselves such things because the linguistic games can be turned very quickly “oh so you don’t think Black Lives Matter?” and “so you are for fascism?”. The truth is however the actions of these groups don’t reflect their naming.
The fact is BLM has done nothing but set the black community back decades and ANTIFA are among the most fascist groups seen in the Western world in modern history. However by the time people have got past the “name” and realised they aren’t what they say on the tin, it’s usually too late as Mrs Osbourne is finding out now, as well as others who pledged unquestioned allegiance to them.
It’s scary how quickly people jump on bandwagons and believe lies. A black man was shot and killed by officers recently and BLM turned up outside the home to protest. The fact he tried to murder the mother of his child by shooting through the window seemed to be a minor inconvenience, he was black and that’s all that was needed to be “outraged”.
A Go Fund Me was set up and raised nearly $20,000 for him. Just bizarre.
The partner came out of the home furious screaming at the protesters that he tried to murder her in front of her child and could have even killed the child (who is also black).
This world is getting weird.

Well the fact this thread isn’t into it’s 4th page of protestations speaks volumes.
I can only assume that yes, it’s dying a death. Even the most ardent supporters are now completely silent around the world. There seems to be very few people willing to defend the organisation now.
But still no walking back of previously held positions which I find disappointing as a lot was said against those who called it right.

I've only just seen this thread, I looked without logging on. I do have opinions.
First, I never agreed with BLM and was called a racist for saying so, there were posters (before Keith's time) who happily jumped on that bandwagon and said my attitude, that all lives mattered, was clearly racist.
Second, Dr P, yes you were smack on with this. BLM was responsible for some awful stuff which in itself was racism against white people. Though some black people seem to think that being Black means they can't be racist!
I do not agree with singling groups out, giving them a name and using them to gain power and influence. All it does it hghlight differences and causes arguments. My opinon is we should concentrate on what we have in common and come together, pressure grous like BLM just drive us further apart.
ANTIFA were just a rentamob going around closing down free speech, shutting down (or canceling if you like) the voices whom they dsagreed with, sometimes violently.
Maybe I shouldn't start on about freedom of speech though
I d have to add though, I never really liked Sharon Osbourne, she never (in my opinion) does/did anything without seld publicising it, everything was an opportunity to her, to get her face on the "front pages" and then you have someone like Russell Crowe who gives money to causes and tells no one in the media, though it always comes out eventually.

The NBA had it all over their courts, all over their jerseys. An embarrassing display of social compliance where you simply were not allowed to stop and question the aims of the organisation simply because of the name.
The name gave it a very easy “out” and retort for anyone dare question it. It was a criminal organisation hiding behind the historical plight of a race and using the threat of cancel culture and jibes of racism to anyone who challenged their narrative.
Pandering and virtue signalling always wins the day, especially for corporations who are terrified of bad press. So it was allowed to spread like wildfire, social media and the need, which is now a sick obsession, to be seen as virtuous spread it further to a point where even if people knew deep down it was all a bit wrong, it provided a convenient platform so they didn’t care.
Society today is sick and completely broken, BLM and it’s disgusting rise is one of the most obvious visual signs of that.

BLM is a divisive organisation that has caused more racial hatred rather than heal tensions, people were called all sorts of names for claiming "All lives matter" Anthony Joshua preaching that black people should only buy in black owned shops, and that's just a few instances.

Agreed, best person for the job get it, race should be irrelevant.
But most of media and entertainment seems to be a tick box exercise now and it gives a completely false and transparent view of society. There seems to be one of every type of pigeon hole you can think of now.
That’s equality of outcome, not equality of opportunity. It’s actually extremely discriminatory, despite its outward display of anything but. All that happens is the quality nosedives as the best people for the job are losing out to lower quality candidates that may fit a certain demographic.
It’s a statistical impossibility that the best cast in a 10 person production will all be from a different racial, sexual orientated or gender (be that new or traditional) demographic.
Sarah Jessica Parker was involved in the new Hocus Pocus, a film I loved as a kid. She said they wanted a more “diverse” cast this time around.
The new one is pretty much an all female cast, one black, one Mexican and one white, a transvestite teacher and a gay black co-lead. Some of the worst rubbish I’ve ever seen, just watered down, terrible acting, typically Disney woke era “entertainment”.
Young Dr P would be beside himself if he knew such travesties were going to be happening to that movie 30 years later.

Not sure where my post went, but I touched upon this being no clearer in entertainment than the Oscars.
In order for a movie to win Best Picture now it has to meet certain diversity quotas. Senior executives of the movies have to be from “underrepresented groups”. Head of departments also need to be diverse (head of production design, cinematography, editing etc).
The movie has to have a lead role filled by an underrepresented group or the movie be about an underrepresented group.
The film has to submit a report to the academy detailing its staff members ethnic background, sexual orientation and physical abilities in order to satisfy the quotas to be eligible for the big prize.
I can certainly see many actors and actresses claiming to like the same sex soon, especially when that Oscar and these roles are up for grabs.
Societally, this is the most embarrassing time in human history I think. I can see them laughing at us in 100 years time, at least if they are then it means we have gained some level of sense back.

BLM became a “white thing” very quickly.
A lot of black people were looking side-eyed at it and saying “hold on a minute, I’m not oppressed in the slightest”, but that common sense was seen an an inconvenience to the narrative and their newly created ‘fight’.
They were often told they don’t understand how opressed they are..
I always bring it up here but the video of the bloke at various Uni campuses asking if they think voter ID laws are racist, to be met with universal “yes of course they are” by the woke and liberal - before their shocking explanations that “black people probably don’t have ID”, “can’t afford ID”, “don’t understand how it works”, “don’t know how to use the internet”
He then goes into Harlem and asks the people there if they have ID, know how to use the internet, know how to vote etc and they looks of confusion are priceless. But of course the narrative had to be kept up for that because they were trying to paint the Republican Party as racist, which seems to be their only tactic to get voted in.
