The death of a dog 10:26 - Dec 6 with 2792 viewspencoedjack

There was a thread which I cant find but obviously a lot of dog lovers (& to save the happiness thread)

A poster (I think it was TNT) posted this when my Weimaraner died 4 years ago, balled my eyes out but it was a nice thing to do.

If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done,
For this – the last battle – can’t be won.
You will be sad I understand,
But don’t let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test.

We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn’t want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.
Take me to where to my needs they’ll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time you will agree
It is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don’t grieve that it must be you
Who has to decide this thing to do;
We’ve been so close – we two – these years,
Don’t let your heart hold any tears.

Had to have my 15 year old jack Russell put down new years day as he was starting to suffer with heart problems, and was coughing and collapsing, took him to vets and had to say goodbye in car due to covid, the look on his face handing him over will never leave me,broke my heart,my partner had his some his ashes put in a tattoo of his name on her wrist..

That's bloody horrible mate, I just cannot bear the thought of losing my boy.

I am so sorry, but remember you did it for him. Kindest thing you could’ve done, but I can’t imagine how devastating that must have been.

We had a GSD about 30 years ago .
She had problems with her bowels after just three years .
She had 3 operations and it came back
We bade her farewell in the back of the Vets car
It took us until now to get another dog and Im not sure if it was a as a good thing either as this one is a real character .

We re taking her to gun dog training in the new year. Fark knows why

Best wishes anyway

I rarely cry but threads like this turn my eyes into waterfalls.

There is no love like that of a dog

That poem is beautiful

I was confused as to why you sent a media message rather than WhatsApp as I believe media messages are CHARGEABLE.
