I managed to get hold of a cheap Xbox and and old FIFA 14.
Swans managed by Laudrup post Cup win.
Michu in the team.
Anyway played against the machine and must say it is harder than I remembered.
Computer beat me every game so far

Modern computer games are the only things that make me feel old.

My level of confusion with all the buttons of FIFA is on a par with the feelings 80 year olds have when trying to use the St. David’s car park parking machine.

Me too, but stuck in the house mostly on my own through Covid so thought I would try and rekindle my ( non existent) skills
As per St David's etc car park, get the MI App and pay on your phone.
Even relative youngsters are stunned when you park up and walk away supposedly without paying

You can barely play any online game these days without coming up against a bunch of cheaters. Call of Duty is an absolute quagmire of cheaters. People shooting you through walls from about 14 miles away.

I’d recommend porn as an alternative (for the Xbox not parking app).

Well my son challenged me to a game on FIFA 23 yesterday, he chose PSG and I took Man Citeh, I beat him 4-2.

he plays FIFA ultimate online uite a lot.

Joeses, my son always complained about inline cheaters, some of the games became practically unplayable because of the hackers. Call of Duty did start clamping down and kicked a lot off.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Boxed and in good condition the vintage games ( even board games ) are worth far more than they cost new.
Wish I had known that back then

Those prices may be a bit off the mark, just looked at the sold list of astro wars on ebay, and it' seems to be around the 50-100 quid mark, still for a game like that, not sure of the prices of it in 81, but I would guess it was less than that.

I have thrown away so much stuff that's worth a fortune today!

I was a big Star Wars fan (10 in 1977) and I had a load of the dolls (yes I'll call them dolls), if I'd had the foresight there'd be thousands of poundsworth waiting for the auction house, though I'd probably have sold them already.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?
