Viktor Gyökeres played eleven championship games for the swans and one FA Cup tie when he scored in the 2-0 away win at Stevenage. 2 If you want to remove this post from the board index, just click the hide post icon below. | Swansea City cast off with a 20 million price tag on his head on 12:29 - Dec 30 by STID2017 | Exactly. Instead he undermines and blames the player himself. Even though Cooper's reputation and success to that point was built on bringing youngsters on |
I’m simply speaking factually. He played for 3 clubs that season, none of them decided to start him regularly. So while we can all pretend we had a monster player on the bench we were ignoring, the reality is quite something different. That’s the thing with reality, it’s often inconvenient to the story trying to be painted. That’s not my fault.

| Swansea City cast off with a 20 million price tag on his head on 12:30 - Dec 30 by magicdaps10 | The title states Swansea City cast off! The truth was he was never given a fair chance with us in the 1st place and the odd few minutes here and there from the bench is hardly something a fan should judge him on. He performed prior to joining us albeit in the Swedish and German keagues and given a chance after leaving us has performed! He needed his chance and he got it.......we missed the boat with him but that's football and we move on. |
Except it was Dr P's beloved Cooper in charge then. Couldn't possibly have been his fault- could it ?

All 3 managers decided he wasn’t good enough to start that season. Show me a post of yours at the time suggesting he should start. It’s open to anyone. It won’t be forthcoming, for good reason - he wasn’t good enough to.

That's his view and perogative but clearly we missed the boat......he wasn't our player to start with and Cooper wasn't going to drop him for Ayew but the reality is he cried out for a striker that was never going to replace Andre. We had a very good team under Cooper and was always going to be hard for any new player to come in and dislodge someone, it's easier for someone to do it now as the team is weaker than it was then......as I repeat, we missed the boat with him but you can see how and why he wasn't given the chance as I have just explained. Not really a view, just a statement of fact. He wasn’t deemed good enough to regularly start for any of his clubs that season, including Coventry. He’s clearly worked hard since. Good on the lad, but let’s not change history.

He was let go by Brighton because he wasn't ready for the Premier league.....lets not hold that one against him. He was loaned to Swansea and wasn't given a chance, whatever reason that is. Hr joined Coventry, played more for them than he did us and subsequently done enough for them to part with over 1M to sign him permanently. So once again your fact is not quite as factual as you are indicating and the whole picture once looked at highlights the story a bit more than you are trying to convince yourself and others as fact. He clearly worked hard enough in his loan at Coventry for them to beat of other teams vying for his signature that ultimately cost them as I said.....over 1M. But as you say, let's not change history especially if it doesn't suit you.

Not holding anything against anyone, again I am simply stating a fact. He was not deemed good enough to regularly start for any of the three clubs he played for that season, including Coventry. What he has managed since that season is irrelevant.
