Yes but no doubt local councils had to draft the plans and make applications to get these funds you m*** No doubt you were happy to accept EU funds in the past. Probably better to fund these projects directly than wait for Drakeford to complain he hads not got enough money . We are still waiting for the vitally needed M4 relief road. It has taken Drakeford over 10 years to say no yet he still has not come up with a solution to the problem.

Wales has always voted Labour sadly no matter how badly they have done in the 20 years since Devolution.

It's the same as the posters on here want the assembly abolished think they had about a dozen candidates at last poll got absolutely battered Ok poorly organised but again comes across as most don't mind the assembly Not for me to say but perhaps the abolish lot need proper organisation start a real movement rather than just moaning

That is an excellent reply, but what about the vanity projects like the drop to 20 mph, restricting the road building improvements including the tunnel bypass and the money ploughed into Cardiff Airport.

Me personally I think 20mph in some areas is fine better be safe I live in Newport I'm opposed to a relief road myself but that's just my personal view put more haulage on the road at night think outside the box staggering finishing times at work throughout the UK for congestion why are we obsessed with 9-5 be more flexible

Correct blanket 20 mph speed limits will do very little to prevent accidents but will vastly increase pollution and lead to an increase in lung and breathing problems.

Agreed 20 mph is necessary in some places but it is ridiculous as a blanket ban. 50 mph anti pollution limit in Wales when all the research says 60 mph is better, as implemented in England. If you live in Newport the tunnel may not effect you depending on where you live, possibly you use the road passing Spyty. For us down west its a no brainer. The queues are not only there at rush hour, although it is worse then. As for haulage overnight it is happening, but it is often dependent on ferry times, collection and delivery availability.

Like it or not, Cardiff is more important to Wales than Swansea is. Just as London is more important than Liverpool.

£50m for a new rail line when there already is one in place? That's hardly "levelling up"

It's also flipping walking distance. I was having a beer in the Eli Jenkins in the Bay with mates from work last summer. I made the station in 7 minutes on foot, I did run but its still close enough. The Welsh Government shouldn't have even supported a bid.

Well seeing as they have never gotten even 50% to vote in Senedd elections I reckon most don't care about the assembly, not really a case of don't mind. At the last GE there was a 67% turnout in Wales which shows that more people care about Westminster. I think a lot of abolish voters (like myself) are caught in the situation of wanting a vote on it but knowing we won't get one. The Senedd will never happily allow a vote that may take their gravy train away. In the same way as when Starmer talked about abolishing the house of lords there was instant reaction from it's members about how bad a move that would be. When I voted to leave the EU it had a lot to do with my fervent belief that the more politiicians we have the worse things get, we need to cut the number of politicians, not grow them. The Senedd have already started trying to increase their number yet there are more of them per head for Wales than MP's for the UK and they can't do a proper job with their "limited" powers. How many would they need to do a proper job if we went indy? This levelling up lark, on the BBC news Nick Servini talked about this money and said the big winner was...CARDIFF! yet when they went and talked to local people it was said this was wasted money, they don't need this train line because it's walking distance or there are plenty of buses.

Is the correct answer - it’s a central government scheme. What’s not clear is whether places like Swansea made other applications which have been rejected. Have other bids been submitted by the Swansea Bay local authorities and been rejected, or was it a case that nobody has submitted anything?

Well surely even you can see the vast difference between what London is and what Cardiff is? There isn't anything comparable between the 2 cities besides Cardiff being the capital city. Cardiff doesn't bring (to Wales) anywhere near what London brings to the UK, not even 10%.

I think you forgot the oft said slogan , what's good for Cardiff is good for Cardiff , sorry I meant Wales . I wonder whos forgotten the spending of £57.3m to build a 1.2km long elevated dual carriageway to remove the need for traffic to negotiate the 3½km route via Central Link, East Tyndall Street and Ocean Way. Thats 53.7m as opposed to the £ 5 million spent on the last major road project in Swansea , the Hafod by- pass ,Welsh Government Economy Secretary Ken Skates, said: “I am pleased that we have been able to allocate over £5m over the last five years towards this important infrastructure and to preserve some of the Hafod Copper Works historical features failing to omit the fact that the Council had already been awarded a Heritage Lottery Fund grant of £3.75m towards the heritage site .
