Chelsea bough Baba for £15m and only played him 15 times. £1m a match on depreiciation alone. They rapidly discovered he is a Championship quality player.
He has been on loan since and they are probably covering £70k a week for him. I do not worry too much about it to be honest as long as, like Ayew, he is supporting his family members back in Ghana where life is tough no doubt. A new pump for the well and some solar panels.
On the other hand he might be investing back into the community and William Hill. Their profits are taxed and dividend go into pension funds. |  |
