Grant from WBA is off 23:52 - Jan 31 with 4439 viewsKeithHaynes

Confirmed.
Shambles.

Grant move to Swansea is off ! Where’s the stack of deal sheets Julian ? 31st Jan 2023 23:46
The transfer window closed at 11pm UK time with Swansea City not announcing any signings officially but two players coming in seems to be the final news of the day. Unless of course Swans CEO Julian Winter has a stack of agreements already filed in his office. 1

I gave a list of comments which inferred Martin was not overly enthused about working with Mr Whitaker in my prophetic "Whitaker - why he might stay" thread.

I have to admit it did not get many likes or the critical acclaim it deserved but it (as we speak) appears to have stood the test of time.

The US people are most probably not impressed with the lack of progress Martin has made and the sidle lining of two of his major signings Fisher and Sorinola and the Patterson fiasco. The US people planted a tank on Martin's lawn with Whitaker. Sort it out.

You wanted a striker. Here he is. Reportedly the best player in league 1 with dazzling performances. So why exactly is he not good enough for Swansea with a contract until 2025? He is a bright lad and after a week of sulking should come round full of attitude and positive energy.

RWB Soriniola can play there. Reserve keeper Webb. That is what the academy is for. Ollie Cooper was the forgotten man but slipped into the side like a duck to water.

What a shambolic pathetic excuse.

The yanks have been the reason we have lost 2 of our 3 managers whilst back in the championship, they are tightfisted and will not speculate.

I really feel sorry for Martin but I suspect he will get pelters for not getting us promoted back to where we belong 🙄

I asked for comments with regards to DrP’s allegations.

They don’t exist.

Not sure what your point is with that Keith?

Are you suggesting that unless it’s in print then it can’t be true? If that’s the case, what the point in having contacts? How does someone “break news”?

They will just be on a link somewhere.

When you say “speculate” what do you mean?

Throughout our history, give me a time any owner we have had, have put millions of their own money into the club.

The irony being of course, it’s only been these owners who have done it with the Silverstein loan note which is close to being turned into equity.

I can’t yet figure out quite how or why but I’m certain this is all 100% Russell Martin’s fault.

If RM wanted Grant id be amazed and extremly worried. The only player ive seen that would be a good signing for us was the Albrighton loan, every other player touted on loan or transferred were a gamble. We need to develop our kids this season and hopefully they will adapt.

The Karlan grant thing just stinks to me of a last minute desperate roll of the dice to get someone, anyone in.

There’s no planning behind that. The fact is apart from the Rotherham lad (who was never going to come anyway) we have been linked with absolutely nobody this window.

It’s now five windows since Connor roberts left and we are still playing a centre back at right back, and he’s also leaving on a free soon.

Dont disagree with any of that Joe, but its pace we need in certain positions and getting in on loan or buying is a gamble in January window.

You think the owners wanted Martin to add Whittaker to his squad? I mean they've been courting Rangers for the last 3 weeks trying to drive up the price only for Rangers not to meet demands and us to be left with a player desperate to leave.
As for Sorinola, Webb and Fisher i think most have seen enough of the three to know they aren't an addition to our squad.
Was the Grant deal cancelled our end as we didn't shift Whittaker? Or WBA after they missed their loan? Or just convenient for both.
I think Grant could've been decent if we got a tune out of him, has previously scored goals at this level.

Grant is ex-Huddersfield which suggests Marsh and/or Winter wanted him?
