The DOF should come first to help secure the manager surely.
Seems logical to me mate.

Watson wasn't the DoF at Luton Town but Football Operations Manager, totally different role, and that's what he will be doing at the Swansea.Com stadium. James Mooney was appointed his replacement over last weekend - James Mooney.

The article above states that Watson would be coming in as Director Of Football Operations, is that a hybrid role?

Both Winter and Marsh are still listed in the Swans staff rollcall, does that mean Winter has gone also

Winter's role will go to Coleman. That is clear. Coleman is not a football expert and needs to learn the ropes. Winter was an ex footballer and no doubt gave his views but was not pouring over player stats I would imagine. His job was to keep the books tidy do all the regulatory stuff. He would gee up Marsh to focus on doing his role and delivering.

Clearly in January what Marsh and Winter proposed was not accepted by the Ownership group. Marsh is only 31-32 and too young for this role. Perhaps because the ownership group knew they would not do too much trading they employed a youngster and gave him a chance to impress.

Andy Goldie came in for some criticism I read some where by but he has slowly been going about his business with three highly rated prospects arriving at Fairwood recently. I saw Liam Smith last week and he was star of the show in the rout of Brum u21. I hope they will let him do his job and not move him about like they did with Pep Clotet back in the day

Watson would replace the old role of Mark Allen presumably. Watson should be on board with the clubs playing principles. Swansea play a possession game and does not want to play a direct game like Luton.

Mark Allen notionally would decide on managerial changes. However at Swansea Mark Allen was removed by Winter after discussions with the ownership group and the manager. Martin did not like the players found by Allen that is clear. Ogbeta, Finlay Burns and Rhys Williams possibly. Ntcham has up January not justified his salary but came on strong later in the season as the team clicked.

Birch used Leon Britton as 'defender of the faith' (Plan A) . The Swansea way. Birch, Winter know this way and acted accordingly. It may have been encouraged by local minor shareholders. Silverstein seems to show a healthy interest and be a strategic thinker also keen on Plan A. As a networker he will have spoken to Mr Morgan for example to gain knowledge and wisdom.

Watson having come through Luton will have to demonstrate he can adapt and dance to difference musical genres, He is not coming he to create Luton Mark 2. He is coming here to continue Plan A with add ons . (like physicality). He does not have to be a disciple of Pep.

He will not be given a free brief. his mandate hopefully will be to continue with plan A and he will accept plan A. Steve Cooper loved plan A but is still today searching for it, doing something else and getting good results.

Levien and Silverstein presumably conversant with Plan A will mandate Watson to continue this philosophy even if it is not in Watson's background. Does anyone want Wood to 'get rid of the ball' and to be instructed to hit long balls into the channels? Do fans want Piroe to up his work rate and contest every ball ?.

It is not clear who is defender of the faith and provides continuity with a hybridised Martinball. It should be Watson. Will he have this as a mandated task? Silverstein / Morgan /Goldie / Anthony Wright. / KoL if he is staying do they have the ear of the decision makers.

I have always had the feeling at Swansea that long term club insiders are listened too. I just do not know who they are.

We do need a shake up that's for sure.

New DOF
New investment
New chairman
New manager
New players.

What worries me is who is making the decisions now and what kind of shape will we be in come August.
