| Welsh Tourism 10:58 - Jul 17 with 69080 views | Dr_Winston | https://www.theguardian.com/uk Already on its knees in recent years thanks to the Welsh Govts unnecessarily heavy Covid restrictions, refusal to deal with M4 congestion and seeming intention to actually make getting around in Wales even harder. To top that off we've still got the mooted tourist tax to come. Is there anything in this country that they can't screw up? | |

| Welsh Tourism on 21:52 - Sep 1 by onehunglow | Of course not. We are the dirtiest country in the history of human civilisation . There ya go. We’re done . |
I'm surprised Richard the Lionheart and the Crusades haven't been brought up yet. Blinking hell most countries/empires/regimes throughout history have had a chequered past. A few continue to have one. Unfortunately some on here, if they stepped in a dog turd would blame the English. Sad really.

| Welsh Tourism on 09:05 - Sep 2 by Kilkennyjack | Yes we need a new model that benefits wales and the people who live in Wales. It needs to be sustainable and not at the cost of welsh history and culture. We should tell Brenda and Keith from Stoke that their days of single handedly propping up are welsh econonmy (sic) are done. They can buy their daily ice cream and coffee in Devon instead. Tourism will be a small but important part of Indy wales. Empty villages of vacant second homes damages future tourism. |
Brenda and Keith eh. What about Maldwyn and Menna from Machynlleth

You are arguing that an imposition from circa 1282 is fit for the modern world. Please seek help. Drakers is playimg a long game, but all his actions are Indy friendly already. He is in govt with Plaid mun. The EU will welcome us. Scotland and Wales joining will bury Brexit type ideology for generations. |
Unfortunately for you the people of Wales don't want independence only 20% at the last count. The people of Wales also voted to leave the undemocratic EU. Why would the Welsh want to rejoin an organisation that is unaccountable to voters . The people with power in the EU are appointed not elected. The EU President and 28 EU commissioners were never voted in.

The EU will welcome us. The minimum requirements under the Copenhagen criteria' and include a stable democracy and the rule of law, a functioning market economy and the acceptance of all EU legislation, including of the euro. I can see at least two we will fall foul of to start.

Wrong! They are voted into office in their own countries and then appointed. Do you think you should be allowed to Vote in a Belgian or Italian election? Did you vote for the Pm or the Cabinet? The Pm is elected with their own party and the cabinet are all appointed. I wish posters would think before they post

Now then, the sun is shining, typical as it's the end of the holidays. Much as I don't like the EPL we need Swansea and Cardiff back up there and staying there because it helps bring the visitors in. Think outside the box now, what can be done in Wales to bring more visitors? As has been said, we need attractions, not just great scenery. |
Wales needs proper work for proper people, its not fecking Disneyland !

It is only through the money that tourism brings to Wales that keeps Welsh history, culture and heritage alive. How else would it be paid for? |
Take a look at independent Ireland ….

Nice try but your 39% is fictional. Lates WOL Poll No to leaving UK 48% Yes to leaving UK 29% Don't know 16% Won't vote 7% Biggest reason for not voting to leave UK the thought of Drakeford's Labour running Wales. I see once again you avoided the question why Welsh people would leave a fully democratic UK.and apply to join an undemocratic EU. No answers either on how would trade continue with Wales biggest trading partner the rest of the UK especially with a hard border and customs post on the Severn Bridges which cary 10 times the volume of traffic that Dover does. You seem happy to point out the occasional queues at peak times at Dover which would be dwarfed by the endless queues on the Severn bridge No answer to how the UK subsidy to Wales would be replaced either. No answered how Wales would replace its largest industry, tourism, either. [Post edited 2 Sep 2023 13:52]

I’d say the vote not to split is the fact we don’t trust each other. North Wales hates Cardiff and it’s politicians They never got over Caernarfon not getting to be capital city . We are tribal, clearly . Even the language sees hate posts

The Communist partisans did marvelous work keeping the Germans occupied just like the Communist resistance in France against the Germans. Cuba sends doctors and medics all round the World to save people, when COVID broke and people thought half the World was going to be whipped out I had a relative on a British cruise ship in the Caribbean that had an outbreak of COVID no country would take the ship, lots of older people, sick people, provisions running out, no country would allow the ship to dock no even our special friends the USA, good old Cuba came to the rescue as it had become a humanitarian issue. |
The Britons(Welsh) were well known as mercenaries they were always up for a scrap and a good plunder otherwise they ended up fighting amongst themselves which was their downfall Not my quote.. something I picked up on the net. . Mind you we do like a good scrap!

Latest poll .. With Don’t Knows removed, 36% of people would vote Yes if there were to be a referendum tomorrow on the question “Should Wales be an independent country?” In June and July we’ve seen a majority of 18-34 year olds in favour of independence. They are the future. (Time for the older generation to also be ambitious, brave and confident. Time to look to a brighter, better, bolder future as an independent nation). Get on the Indy bus boys ….. its happening ….
