Everton back in with a shout for Joel Piroe **Latest 28th Jul 2023 07:00
Joel Piroe’s move away from Swansea looks a lot closer than some may think this morning with Atalanta, once mentioned as interested in Joel having agreed terms to sign El Bilal Toure from Almeria in Spain. 0

Personally I think nobody has put in a firm offer.

Correct, not even talks.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

Why do you think nobody has met our asking price so far?

There's obviously been interest

Biding there time no doubt and will pounce at the right time when they know our owners will go into panic mode.

I think our record of getting good prices for our players under these owners hasn't been shabby at all

Manchester United have agreed a £72m deal to sign Denmark international striker Rasmus Hojlund from Serie A side Atalanta.

This could start things moving.

In my opinion he has to go, the club can’t afford to let him walk for free at the end of next season and it needs sorting.
If he’s intent on saying, the club needs to do some kind of deal where they bung him a huge lump of cash tied to a new contract with a sensible release clause. That way Piroe gets a pay rise with some wonga up front and he’s guaranteed a transfer if the release clause is met.

Yes they definitely need to offer him something more.
£15m is a fair asking pric.
I understand why his Dad would advise him to walk for free next year, as he would be due a big signing on fee.
If we offer him that to sign a an extension, maybe he will sign.

Totally agree, if he plays his cards right he could get 2 big pay outs, one for signing the contract extension here and a second one when he moves on when the release fee set in his new contract is met. In addition, he wouldn’t have to worry about getting injured and being finished.

He knows that barring a dramatic loss of form or serious injury, there will be plenty of PL or top league options. He’ll get a big signing on fee and huge wages.

Any kind of contract extension makes him far less appealing to the clubs he wants to go to.

I’d love him to sign one, but he won’t, so we just have to get the best deal we can.

Yes looking like we are going to get shafted with this deal.
Coventry got lucky with Gorkeres and Sporting.

If he does stay all we can hope is he fires us to promotion but it's a long shot at best.

The Bosman ruling is heavily weighted in favor of players especially when they can offer players a huge signing on fee for the following season stinks really.

I would too if I was him. He’s sitting pretty. He either gets a PL move now/January or he plays the season out with us and gets a better deal as a free agent next summer.
