As you went off at a tangent, I wanted to remind you of what my post actually said. Irrespective of what the moral and social issues may be, the legal case doesn't seem to me to be as clearcut as some on the thread are suggesting. A conviction is possible, but when issues like strength of evidence, gravity of offense, intention, harm and proportionality of sentence are considered, I do not expect to see a custodial sentence. Of course, I may be mistaken because this case comes up at a time of changing social attitudes and tensions within Spanish football. However, many will think that this man should receive due process and a proportionate outcome regardless of that climate. [Post edited 21 Sep 2023 10:09]

It'll virtually be brushed under the carpet a few smack on the wrists here and there, Rubiales will probably be hang out to dry no doubt and rightly so, but the Spanish Ladies team have played right into the hands of the Spanish Football association, little if he anything will change, it'll be tokenism at best, in my opinion other opinions are available as always | | | |
