| Suella sacked then on 00:15 - Nov 17 by Robbie | Braverman and Patel talked the talk but both were over ruled by High Court verdicts regarding their efforts to find any solutions to many current issues , they were sacked . Who runs the UK now , Westminster or Law Lords , cannot remember putting my X vote in the booth letting Judges rule the roost . |
Judges pass down rulings based on laws passed by parliament. The myth of Brexit is that a nation can be totally sovereign and free of international treaties (cake and eating), that's simply not the case

And of course that's your right, my chum. We need to get back power and that comes from a politically engaged populace, in my opinion anyway

Pay the Prime Minister 750k per year and that's it, no expenses. But then the rules also need to be stronger and clearer around things like lying, misleading the country, about pusnihmsnts if you break the rules. Maybe that is the way forward but how can we expect the people who ARE the problem to change things for the better? |
…… and here comes Brandon Lewis latest external interest. He’s got another job working 8 hours. A weeks for which he’ll earn £250k - the company he’s working for was owned by 2 Russians who’ve been sanctioned. https://www.theguardian.com/po

| Suella sacked then on 09:16 - Nov 17 by majorraglan | The judges were right with their decision making, what was being proposed was illegal. Let’s be honest, this shower are probably the most untrustworthy collective of politicians we’ve ever had in charge and the law of the land is there to protect and safeguard. The law of the land is there for a reason and applies to everyone including politicians, nobody should be above the law. If the politicians can ignore or break laws as and when they choose, where will it end ? Probably when we’re like Russia or Zimbabwe with kangaroo Courts and people being jailed just for speaking out. People like Braverman and Patel have been bumping their gums off for ages pushing a policy that anyone with half a brain could see would crash and burn at Court, but they’ve persisted and wasted and huge amounts of cash on a policy that wouldn’t get off the ground. We should be holding them to account and not the judges who’ve pulled them up on their policy. |
Seems Damien Green agrees about the government having to obey the law like everyone else. Green told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme: “This is the most unconservative proposal I’ve ever heard. You know conservatives believe in a democratic country, run by the rule of law. Dictators like Xi [Jinping] and [Vladimir] Putin would prefer to have the state completely untrammelled by any law.” He added: “Defending the principle that governments have to obey the law is really important for conservatives, perhaps particularly at times of heightened political change.” https://www.theguardian.com/po Braverman is off her trolley, let’s get some sensible people around a table and see what can be done. One of problems with politicians is that they have huge ego’s and don’t like being pulled up for being wrong even when it’s obvious to one and all. Let’s get some sensible people around the table and sort it out, to be fair to Sunak he’s made huge inroads in to resolving the NI impasse where Johnson and Frost wanted confrontation. No suprise income is gerenated in other ways. If we want the brightest and best we need to pay for them. |
Will increasing the pay really increase the bright and best when we have closed selection lists, all women quotas and the rampant nepotism and cronyism that we have seen for years? The reality is increasing the pay will just mean the sub standard idiots will just earn a lot more for being useless.

Well that's the reason we need change, maybe with more reward the brighter people will come forward and we won't be stuck with utter cockwombles like Drakeford, Bojo....Matt Hancock.....Gething....I could be here all day so I'll stop..... What Welsh Labour are doing is an affront to democracy, it's at least as bad as anything they ever accused to tories of, they are changing the rules to try and guarantee their own success at the polling booth. It's wrong.

I think it might. More trying to get in would put additional pressure to widen the pool.
