| The egg chasers might be leaving our stadium 19:09 - Jan 12 with 5803 views | RhonddaSwans | No more rugby at the Swansea City stadium soon. It is a shame really for supporters in the area. Regional rugby is a bloody killer, not enough interest for them to keep playing at the Swansea.com One good thing is more no rugby messing our pitch up. (even though the ground staff do an amazing job) The flip side anyone who does support them might have to travel to Neath or Bridgend . If ST Helens isn't developed. This should be a warning to us also. If our attendances keep dropping off would we be able to keep playing here ?🤔 https://www.walesonline.co.uk/ | |

Max is box office A Swansea man One who has seen our great rugby club of old beat the very best and one that spawned some of our greatest rugby players . And some reside this . Many in Swansea would not go to football for free ,mainly because of the effete nature or the too many posing jerks wearing gloves and chest warmers ,diving to the ground all too often . Rugby Union is a great game as is RL. Sadly, the grammar schools bullied he too small or too fat kids to play or simply ones who didn’t like physical contact . Their fear of that time sees them post the hate the likes of some do. They were bullied and traumatised. My Latin teacher was Swansea RFC secretary . As I wouldn’t play rugby for the school as it clashed with football ,he gave me hell. His son is Russell T Davies ,ironically as far away from an alpha male as is possible

The Chief disappeared once his narrative was exposed as bogus. The "people " will always be right by him. This is true most of the time but it relies on them being alert thinking people who actually care in what they are doing. The Trust membership did not ask questions or cross examine their representatives. They simply voted for what their representatives told them. The Chief had an admirable quality of persistence and The Trust sold him promises they could not deliver. He was on the wrong side of history.

Fast Forward to Parc Y Scarlets , their new stadium , lucky to fill one side of the ground . TV camera angles plus advertising will mask the lack of punters in the Stadium . If it aint broke , dont try and fix it , there was a real product some years back , attractive . Media demands , players wages , WRU becoming a business more concerned with how many pints they can sell on International days , ruined rugby , a sport now all in freefall .

I use to work at parc y scarlets the attendances were ok a few seasons ago. But you are right, I grew up a Pontypridd supporter and the regional game killed rugby. The community makes a club. All the regional game was and still is a souless cash grab. The Pontypridd team use to churn out alot of internationals. They wanted a Pontypridd/Cardiff region with all the games played in Cardiff. We hate Cardiff so it was never going to happen. Then when Pontypridd/Bridgend merged all our games were down there.(we all know what happened next) Having the local derbys at club level are always better. The 'judgment day' is a hollow replacement. Honestly Ystrad Rhondda V Treochy Zebras is a better atmosphere. It isn't just students or people who have no interest in the sport on a piss up. As for the international games I know alot of real rugby lovers who hate the experience now. It is like a frat party personality the daffodil hats do my head in. They sold what was our national sport down the river. I would watch Swansea City over any Wales rugby match if I had to choose. Welsh rugby is becoming a lost cause next time we have a bad few years internationally the glory hunting fans will disappear. While all the traditional fans would given up for good. But hey Rugby loses mean footballs gains.

Another false narrative to go with your multitude of other false narratives that you have in your head, you've been told umpteen times as to why the Chief doesn't post on here anymore and to again burst your bubble it had nothing to do with you as much as you'd like to believe it does, but keep pretending that it does, you've plenty of previous for the pretence that the only truths are what you believe in your head. Stop ruining threads with your nonsense full of blah blah blah! | | | | Login to get fewer ads

They never embraced Regional Rugby, they totally epitomize parochialism they'll never except change that involves joining ranks with another region, they'll always be singing Scarlets, Scarlets Scarlets

I love the rugby if I had to chose between Rugby and Football it would be a tough choice, but I reckon Rugby would edge it.

Do you mean club V country? I mean it is alot easier for me to choose as the valleys have no regional team either. When Pontypridd won the league a few seasons ago we were all singing "I will never be a blue" (we mean it aswell) Here is one for you Swansea are in the play off finals or Wales are playing New Zealand again (this will be the year boys) Where do you go if you could get a free ticket to one of them?

| The egg chasers might be leaving our stadium on 13:30 - Jan 14 with 1015 views | RhonddaSwans | This is borrowed off planet swans poster Monmouth I should think most would say 'good riddance' - and it's not good for them to play in an echo chamber neither. Thing is though, now we've oh so cleverly bought the stadium, instead of having a super sweet peppercorn rental deal, it's an income stream. add, having read the WoL blurb - is he really that stupid? His number one priority should be survival and funding. Plus, selling out a small stadium against Benneton on a Friday night (there isn't a stadium small enough by the way) is of no benefit if it's the same number of tickets but in a smaller ground, just because you sell out rather than have lots of excess capacity. It's like the scum moving to Rodney Parade and filling it now and again instead of having vast swathes of empty seats in their 'big' ground. Pointless. That did make me laugh, being "lost" in POTY is quite hysterical. Though maybe you'd have to ask, looking at the various replies to Res's comments just who voted for him! The Ospreys are victims of WRU stupidity, they chased the money instead of doing what was best for the game in Wales and no they have almost killed their own golden goose. For a long time now the real rugby fans have been deserting the regions AND the internationals, what we see on tv is daffodil hat wearing fools out of their skulls or most of the way there who are more concerned with seeing their face on the big screen than watching the match. Just like with other big businesses, like the Post Office, it's all about making as much money as possible so the "senior" management can take bigger salaries and bonuses. The whole thing is a house built on sand, or a house of cards, whichever, but it is starting to tumble. | | | |
