Do you honestly think that 99.9% of those who join in with the chants and songs consider for one minute what they are singing ,?
If whoever leads their "singing" decided to sing a song with the words "All the Welsh are great singers and love daffodills" they would join in
Of course you would no doubt claim that is positive discrimination as it suggesting two things which are no more based on fact that the S/S song

We live in the world where a chant on camera can get you a jail sentences and a 3 year ban from the club. I recall the press tracked down two bloke doing something stupid when a death of a disabled child was announced,

Swansea city football club apparently opposed all forms of abuse. Zero tolerance. I have not seen that wording recently. Perhaps a bit of filthy abuse should be tolerated as long as it is the welsh on the end of it not any other ethnic group.

Other ethnic groups get a bit hot under the collar and we could not have that. Actually only 10% of Swans fans appreciate the ethnic slur according to a recent poll.

Watched the game Sunday on tele , great match too .

Lineker , Shearer and Micah Richards presentation sounded fine to me , no problem .
Did not even remember hearing saying the Farmers remark , went over my head .

Are we at a stage were any comment is taken out of context , we go into meltdown .
Lets complain about Sheep lover insults , always Englsh , always cheating etc .

Pundits say things without thinking , or should do before waffling on Live TV .

Total overreaction by many , more concerned at WBA v Wolves , that is a talking point .

For many years , might still happen now , Notts County , Forest and Mansfield fans were chanted at in various grounds , Scabs , bet so many of them shouting had no idea of the history and background , some probably not even born then .

Munich Air crash , Hillsborough , now that is real poison , cannot be stamped out either so puts remarks like Farmers football standard , sheep loving taffies so irrelevant .

Shot the Cardiff scum sung by some of ours , pathetic and not wanted by me .

You are missing one critical angle. The race /ethnic angle.

The sheep slur is for all Welsh people and is an ethnic slur. The flag waver on here and sell out exiles tell you Wales is no good and we are not an ethnic group so it is not a racial / ethnic slur.

The Welsh are Celtic people with a Celtic language. We are an ethnic group.

Swansea chant "we are into bestially" without any agitation. They are engaging in ethnic slurs. The poll showed 10% love ethnic slurs and another 45% are indifferent to racial slurs.

It could be argued is that Swansea fans in the are still intrinsically racist. I do not acknowledge some statement of sympathy for high profile black players are genuine as it is in some cases not based on a solid moral foundation.

If you lived in Swansea you would know that is an increasingly multicultural city.
Many people originally from outside of Wales (and goes without saying many originally from outside of Britain) reside in and around the area reside here either permanently or temporarily.
Many of these have made Swansea their club.
I cannot speak for all, but I would think when requested to complete a form asking how one consider's onself ethnically, many put White Welsh or whatever Welsh as an ethnicity.
You obviously think to deep about the S/S song, as I cannot imagine one person singing it and almost to a person no one hearing it (Despite what the nonsensical poll indicated) taking an understanding that Wales are no good, are not an ethnic group and are proud of their heritage.
By the same token I have discussed with many of my Irish family the jokes poking fun at the Irish.
Far from taking offence, they enlightened me to the fact that the same jokes are told, only substituting counties for Ireland (e.g A man from Dublin might be the Englishman, Wicklow the Welsh man and Mayo the Irishman )
It really is time to give your one man campaign a rest - for yiur own good

I do not s despise English folk at all. I lived there for 20 years and have loved English family cousins etc.

I am happy to be British and Welsh. It is not an either or issue for me as it is for Killkeny for example.

The definition of Ethnicity does not fall into you narrow template of genetics.

[Ethnicity has been defined as: "the social group a person belongs to, and either identifies with or is identified with by others, as a result of a mix of cultural and other factors including language, diet, religion, ancestry and physical features traditionally associated with race"].

Swansea fans sing ethnic slurs regularly and Swansea has been associated with more racial abuse issues over he last few years than the vast majority of other clubs. Cabango, Rhys Williams, Dhanda, Whitaker over the last three season.

The poll shows that the majority of fans are either pro ethnic slurs or tolerant of ethnic slurs. Linking bestially to a certain ethnic group is illegal and defined as "racially aggravated disorderly conduct" when taken in front of a court of law. This usually only happened when police officers or security staff are directly affected.

Some defend the right of an English man in a zombie state or otherwise to sing ethnic slurs under specific circumstances. Swansea .com stadium is the place for them it seems. The locals join in. The claim zero tolerance but that is just PR blurb.

Correct you are welsh.

Welsh people live in the British state.
English people live in the British state.

The British state is a political construct that incorporates 3 nations, and an area in the north of Ireland.

Hopefully this will be changing soon.

According to one poster on here i have to accept ethnic slurs against my own people "for my own good".

This is was the message / vibe the zombie Hereford supporter put out about 28 y o or so, 6 ft 3in demented look bulging eyes and neck tattoos. He saw it as an historical right to come to our land insult us and threaten our friends families. The SWP will only prosecute if they are directly affected/ It was "racially aggravated s disorderly behaviour".

It is not acceptable here or in England. Over 50% of our fans doff their cap and engage. Its pathetic.

61 people voted in that nonsensical mickey taking poll regarding the S/S chant

You honestly feel it is representative of the many thousands of Swans fans both local and across the globe ?

It is merely a straw poll.

Like on Family Fortunes when they ask 100 people, our survey said ...
Does not mean the answers are correct or are a representation of the views of the public at large
On another day the answers and percentages would change

No one in their right mind thinks anyone should accept any ethnic slurs. That is racial discrimination.
However neither you or anyone else has suffered racial discrimination due to the self effacing Sheep song
Please accept that once and for all

Have a bit if sympathy, he was frightened once by a Hereford supporter and it has affected him badly. Now it is in open I can understand how such a dramatic event can change your thoughts on things that don't seem to matter to many. I went to Plymouth as a weedy 17 year old to watch our famous 2-2 draw.
After the game, I almost became an innocent victim of some knucklehead who wanted to beat me to a pulp for (I assume), daring to be Welsh and from Swansea.
Luckily an adult I was with intervened.
Perhaps I can use that as an excuse to never go past Home Park to visit my brother and his family who had the audacity to move there without consulting me on whether I had recovered from the trauma caused by my experience that day ?
Having been past Home Park about 50 times in the past three years, perhaps I should sue PAFC for the pain and suffering each journey brings ?
I am sure many of us have such horror stories we could share ?

You are correct of course.
Some are affected by seemingly small things and their trauma is heightened.
Sympathies to "all " affected by the insinutions of the Sheep song.

While I am at it can I offer my sympathies to the many people from certain areas who are affected by the damaging and misleading portrayal of residents of certain areas of Swansea East in "The Townhill Rap"

You as a youth were subjected to "racially aggravated disorderly conduct" and as such have notionally the protection of the law.

We as Welsh fans do not have to accept racial slurs unless we want to engage in it a ourselves. The option of the law is available to us.

I am making the argument that the sympathy for Kasey (apologies for wrong spelling) is fake. This is because we as fan base are intrinsically racist and sing ethnic slurs as part of our identity.

The Welsh fans sang "we know who we are, we are sheep shaggers off to Qatar". This was internationalising an English slur with pride. "We are into bestially" we sang to the watching billions. No wonder the team wilted. A national embarrassment.

Swansea fans prefer to engage with ethnic slurs rather than highlight them. "Swansea .com home of ethnic slurs". Lineker was wise to know his limits.
