Ignoring the obvious that stating Cullen was afraid of headers was mental in the first place…
What he did there was exactly what you’d want a good centre forward to do.
1. Received the ball without much time or space, but got it out from under his feet and improvised a ball out to Tymon
2. Made the run where the cross was likely to go without being picked up by defenders
3. Got rewarded for his intelligent run with a great cross and a fairly easy header.
Without 2, he couldn’t have done 3, which is why Vip doesn’t score headers.
This 100%, one thing he shows without being a "superstar" is football intelligence and with the ability to score goals, even though he could and probably should score more.
Viptonik is still a mystery, lacks the ability to read the game, lacks instinct, anticipation and positional sense, not sure anyone can teach him those aspects of the game its got to come from within him which looks beyond him unfortunately.

Unfortunately, I don’t think he’s the answer either. At least not in the position he played yesterday. He’s not big, powerful or quick and he doesn’t really have a trick to beat a defender.
What he does have is a really sharp football brain. If he’s playing just behind or just wide of a physical striker, he’ll do well.
A few days ago I’d have been happy with Cullen, Yates and a new centre forward. If we’re signing Bobby Wales, we don’t need both of them.

IMO Yates and Cullen are too similar to keep both, Cullen is better and cheaper.

Sitting opposite Oxford second goal definitely a foul on Vig he was taken out.
A shout out for the Oxford fans who helped make it a great atmosphere
I overheard some of their fans saying that our ground isn’t at all intimidating . I didn’t have the heart to point out they weren’t considered as a rival or some team we have any history with (and of course and end of season game where nothing is really at stake dampens any real needle).

They would have a different opinion if they were at our games against the scum.
