That's their job, to provide a back up option should the first choice keeper get injured or suspended. He would come in for a handful of games as cover, he's not going to oust Vig from the number 1 spot. No club (to my knowledge) use a weekly rotation system with their keepers, they have first choice who will play 90%+ matches and a backup. It's not sentiment, it's good business all round that we have a keeper who's fit, has some experience at this level, happy to play understudy to Vig, is already settled into the area and squad, is not going to cost a transfer fee and is not going to be breaking the bank with his wage demands. It also offers us the opportunity to loan out some of our younger keepers over the next couple of seasons to gain competitive experience. I can't see any flaws in Fisher being given a new contract to be honest. [Post edited 18 Feb 8:14]

A decent reply and others should note how to discourse I couldn’t disagree with your views however Fisher was dire We knew that He was replaced Never would he replace Vig who is nowhere near perfect Anyway, maybe we could play Jay as a striker

Thank you Regarding Jay, I had pretty.much written him off until this season, but I think he gives us a steady platform who can cover a multiple of roles in CM (Holding, Box to box or playmaker) I'm sure his wages would have been substantially reduced, he has experience to pass on to Stamenic, Widdel and Walta so will be supporting their development over the next couple of years. Again, to bring in a player like that would have cost a decent fee (or big wages if on a free) We know what we're getting with Jay, he's a professional and knows the squad/league so no settling in period required. For me he still has a role and has something to offer. 2/3 signings this summer and we wcan be pushing top two next year with Matos I reckon.... But we need those solid squad players to support the push
