Won’t go down well with some. But I bet Fishers contract is half of what he was on.

We'd better hope nothing happens to Vigeroux then!

Sensible move by the club, particularly as its nice and early.

Solid both. Fisher was arguably our best player during the league cup run and kept us in several games, whilst Fulton's capability should be obvious to all by now.

The club can't have superstars in every position. Here and there it needs capable backup and deals like this secure it.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Part of the issue for me on the League Cup was tactical, Fisher is weak on crosses so we don't bother to put a defender on the back post for corners!

Fulton has been kept on simply because of his influence on the training ground and the training pitch.

And rightly so.

I wouldn't say that it's simply because of that due to his performances on the pitch, but I reckon you're spot on in that it's a very, very major consideration in the thinking behind this decision. Been clear for a good long while that he's very highly regarded of within the club, even pre-dating Matos.

After this two years I wouldn't bet against another year if he's fit enough, or a spot on the coaching staff if he decides to pack it in.

Its not a disservice to Jay, its planning for the future.

There is no one who knows the club better than him.

Aa I've said its a no brainer.

Really have to question the quality of our Academy if these players have been given new contracts. Most fans will be hoping that neither of these players ever have to start a game so are effectively taking 2 places in the squad meaning 2 less places for Academy options.

We arent a big club so we need at least one old head to get the crew players to ger the club.

Some on here dont have a clue.

I think Fisher is a good keeper ,his awareness to come off his line is very good and he has good shot stopping ability,I think the tactics of Martin and Williams didn’t suit his game .because he looks a lot better since they’ve gone

Be careful station your opinion on these two forum favourites
Trust me , Fisher is loved as is Fulton and not a bad word is to be said against them
Two and a half years for a back up keeper to play the odd cup game and sit on the bench
We have form for this

We have to remember that the manager must have some input into his squad.

So if thats the case then I am happy and i am not going to take seriously some people's opinion on this.

For further evidence of this just listen to the way that Melker Widell talks about him. It's borderline fanboyish.

Fulton is a very capable player and even better professional/example. Like Kyle Naughton before him he is destined to be criticised by the intellectually challenged whilst simultaneously being held in the highest regard by those who actually know the score.

What is there to "get" about the club? We are a mid-table Championship side who change their Manager several times a year. Not this myth of the "Swansea Way" the closest thing to the "Swansea Way" is Fabian Way.
Are we paying someone £10k a week because he knows where the Canteen is?

Recently the canteen must be in central midfield on match day. Fulton has been excellent under Matos.

He is like Alan Tate, hundreds of games for the club without ever being first choice.
They should have let one of the youngsters come through. If he us great around the training then offer him a coaching role

A good move by the club and will be mutually beneficial over the next 2 years.

Fulton is a decent player and seems to have a good head on his shoulders so will be a big asset to the younger players, in a game where change is constant there is a lot of value in keeping hold of established players who know the club inside out - might not show as huge value on the pitch but is worth its weight in gold off it.

Fisher is a capable number 2 and experienced professional, the club obviously see value in keeping him on too which tells me he adds value off the pitch.

I do agree with some comments on here about the lack of academy players coming through which is harmful to our finances, however I don't see either of the players above blocking paths for any young players - the academy players either aren't trusted or deemed good enough yet.

Exactly. I have been harping on about the lack of talent and development through from the academy for several years, hopefully some will progress but we do seem to be buying players of a higher calibre. Either way Fulton and Fisher can not be blamed for the youngsters not progressing.

And some people are so arrogant that they are unable to accept alternative viewpoints even in a football forum.

I don’t think Fisher or Fulton in any starting eleven would fill many with any confidence for a club with ambitions of challenging for promotion. You do. Get over yourself
