Part of it was based in the Vic in Mumbles, where the punters mostly seemed to favour Plaid (wonder how many understood the painfully-woke policies they would be voting for). When the interviews shifted to Swansea indoor market, the tone changed and most of the interviewees said they would vote Reform. Prof Matt Wall from Swansea University was interviewed and seemed to me to hint that Plaid would indeed be the largest party. He presented this as something of a sea change, and I could not help wondering whether as an Irish man who has only been in Wales since 2012, he recalls the way Plaid has propped up Labour over the years. Apparently so, because in the mind of 'student activist' leftist immaturity and cloud-cuckoo-land (selling Welsh water will pay for it all ) Welsh nationalism?.... Hence the lack of outrage from Yes Cymru and left etc when the relief road was scrapped.

This is the crux of it.
Wales has consistently voted Left for decades and has suffered for it. Unfortunately a lot of Welsh voters are morons and believe it when Labour have blamed Westminster for their own failings.
Now unfortunately we are faced with the prospect of an even more insane version of Labour with Plaid Cymru. Or worse, a coalition of the damned including the Greens. Certainly nothing to improve the lives of anyone living in Wales, but at least they can stick it to the English that they hate so much. |  |
